Yesterday I was with my son at the doctor, who said that his left testicle had not descended.

He also mentioned something about the surgery. I am asking for advice, I do not want to expose my child to surgery and anesthesia? Heard something about massages, acupuncture? I am asking for as much information as possible, because I am very afraid for my son. ~ concerned_mom

First of all, it is not known how old the boy is. In early childhood, the testicles may be in the inguinal canal instead of the scrotum, and they may be mobile and wandering. Then they are once in the scrotum, and once in the inguinal canal, and even in the abdominal cavity. However, one should bear in mind the danger of leaving such a testicle outside the scrotum. Firstly, the testicle may be destroyed by excessively high temperature in the abdominal cavity and then it will not take on its sperm production function in the future, and secondly, it may be transformed into neoplasms at high temperature. Hence the treatments consisting in bringing the testicles to the scrotum as early as possible. I am not aware of the possibilities of using acupuncture in this condition. Massage is also of little use if an opening in the abdominal wall is present and the testicle can easily travel back and forth. The surgery itself is safe, usually short, unless it consists in removing the testicles from the abdominal cavity. Then, of course, it is much more extensive and longer.
