Are you struggling with pain ailments? Do you want to reduce puffiness or eliminate inflammation? Check how cryotherapy works – a treatment with versatile use.
Cryotherapy is a therapeutic method, the essence of which is to cool the body surface with low temperature. In such conditions, blood circulation is accelerated (it takes place up to four times faster), which helps to deal with many ailments.
Cryotherapy – how does it work?
Cryotherapy is a treatment that uses the body’s natural defenses to very low temperatures. Thanks to this, it is possible to restore the balance in the functioning of the entire body.
In the first stage, there is a sudden narrowing of the blood vessels, which results in a temporary slowdown in blood flow. The blood vessels then expand significantly – this is how the body defends itself.
Cryotherapy affects the endocrine and immune systems. It causes increased secretion of endorphins – hormones that have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. In addition, muscle tension is reduced.
Treatment in the cryochamber
Cryotherapy can be performed in a special chamber. It is a procedure that consists of several stages, such as:
- preparation,
- cryogenics,
- cryorehabilitation.
It is worth remembering that after leaving the cryochamber, you cannot touch the skin – it results in the formation of very painful wounds.
Local cryotherapy
Local cryotherapy is another form of treatment that uses a special device that produces liquid nitrogen vapor. This type of procedure is performed, inter alia, to relieve pain in degenerated joints or bruised muscles.
In the first phase, local cryotherapy leads to a rapid contraction of blood vessels and tissues. Then they expand rapidly – blood begins to circulate faster.
Cryotherapy is also recommended for skin care. For a safe home cryotherapy treatment, you can use, for example, a needle-free mesotherapy device with 5 operating modes B-Glossy PRO. Check out the offer of other Beautifly care devices.
Cryotherapy – contraindications
Although cryotherapy is safe, it cannot be used in all people. Therefore, before starting therapy, inform your doctor about all your ailments.
Contraindications to cryotherapy include:
- anemia,
- local blood circulation disorders,
- peripheral neuropathies,
- acute circulatory failure,
- Hypothyroidism,
- hypertension.
It is worth emphasizing that cryotherapy can leave behind uncomfortable ailments, such as a slight tingling or a feeling of numbness.
