Crafts from acorns and chestnuts with your own hands. Video
Chestnuts and acorns are autumn natural materials that are perfect for fun crafts. The creation of a variety of applications, paintings, figurines can be done with children. This contributes to the development of their imagination and fine motor skills, and the obtained results of creativity can be used in games or as a gift to relatives.
You will need: – chestnuts of the same size; – plasticine; – wooden toothpicks.
Roll several small balls out of colored plasticine. Squeeze them, flattening them, between two chestnuts. Form a caterpillar in this way. Poke two holes in the head of the figurine with an awl. Cut a wooden toothpick in half and stick the sharp edge into the caterpillar’s head. Roll up two small plasticine balls and place them on the protruding ends of the toothpick. It turned out funny horns.
Roll your eyes, nose and mouth out of plasticine too. Make a caterpillar hat out of an acorn cap, securing it with a lump of sticky mass. Place a maple leaf on top of the yellow cardboard, circle it with a pencil and cut it out with scissors. Place the finished caterpillar on the leaf.
Fresh chestnuts that have just fallen from the tree are easy to pierce and cut. If the chestnut is hard, put it in water to soften.
Bear of chestnuts and acorns
For autumn crafts you will need: – chestnuts; – acorn caps; – plasticine.
Choose the largest chestnut – this will be the body of the bear. Fix a smaller chestnut on it with a plasticine ball. It turned out to be a head. Glue the ears of the two smallest chestnuts onto it.
Roll the eyes, nose and mouth for the bear cub out of colored plasticine. If you have small buttons, you can make eyes out of them. Use four acorn caps to make legs for the bear. Attach them to plasticine.
Small autumn candles made of acorns
You will need: – a candle; – acorn caps.
Crush the finished candle and remove the wick from it. Place the debris in a bowl and melt in the steam bath. Divide the wick into small pieces with scissors.
You can use old candle stubs. You will need very short pieces of ready-made wicks and a little wax
Spread the acorn caps on a hard surface with the inner side up. Place the wick in the center of the cap and spoon melted wax into it. Clamp the end of the wick between two toothpicks and place them on top of the acorn head. When the wax hardens, remove the toothpicks.
If you want colored candles, when melting the wax, add some shaved crayons of the desired color.

These funny owls will come in handy for decorating a small Christmas tree, and if you arrange them, you can get a large hanging toy.
Cut small circles out of white felt, and make even smaller circles out of black felt. Take the acorn in your hands, its hat will be an owl’s hat. Glue two white circles under it, almost close to each other, and on them two black ones. These will be owl eyes.
Make a small triangle out of red felt. Glue it just under your eyes. The owl’s nose is ready. Now cut out two droplets from the fabric and secure them to the sides of the acorn. The owl gained wings. You can hang the toy from the tree by gluing a loop of thin string to the acorn head.
Decorative chestnut beads can be hung on the wall to create an autumn mood. To make them you will need: – chestnuts; – small wooden beads; – awl; – fishing line.
Match fresh chestnuts that are the same size. Pierce them through with a thick awl. If you have a small drill at home, use it to drill holes. You can also quickly and easily pierce the chestnut with a hammer and a nail.
Wooden beads can be used in natural color or painted with bright acrylic paint. After they dry, assemble the beads into a single piece. Thread the fishing line through the holes. Alternate chestnuts and wood beads. Tie the fishing line, and so that it does not bloom, melt the ends.
Cow made of acorns and chestnuts
You will need: – an acorn without a cap; – chestnut; – colored plasticine.
The large chestnut will be the body of your toy cow. Roll four thick sausages out of black or brown plasticine and attach them to the chestnut so that the cow’s body can stand on its feet. Make a cow’s tail from a thin sausage. At the end of the tail, make a brush from a small plasticine cake cut with scissors.
Use white plasticine to mold two horns into a cow and attach them to an acorn. Make two ears and eyes. Fix the plasticine cake at the end of the acorn and poke two holes in it with a toothpick, marking the nostrils. Glue the cow’s head to the body with plasticine.
Mushrooms from acorns and chestnuts
To make a mushroom clearing, you will need: – acorns; – chestnuts; – plasticine; – box lid.
Cover the lid with fresh or dried leaves. Combine the acorn and chestnut together on plasticine. Choose so that the leg of the mushroom, which represents the acorn, is not very thick. On the chestnut, which serves as a mushroom cap, glue a few blades of grass or pieces of leaves onto the plasticine. Place the homemade mushrooms on the lid of the box.
