Cough in a child: prevention and treatment. Video
How to prevent a child from coughing
Since cough is not always easy to treat and often causes complications, it is best to try to prevent its occurrence. It is better to protect yourself from childhood infections with the help of vaccinations, and this can be done not only with free domestic vaccines, but also with imported analogues.
Allergic cough most often occurs during the flowering period of plants. It can be prevented with antihistamines, and in severe cases, hormonal agents. An allergist who knows the characteristics of the child and the medical history should prescribe treatment. In addition, it is important to try to protect the baby from contact with the allergen.
A cold cough, like any other, is also easier to prevent than to cure. Measures should be taken when the child first felt unwell, and not when the disease has already entered the active phase. Since the infection most often descends “from top to bottom”, it is important to start treatment on time for a runny nose and sore throat. In addition to local remedies (throat sprays and nasal drops), herbal tonic and home remedies can be used. Hot milk with honey (a teaspoon per glass) and honey mixed with aloe juice (2-3 drops of juice per dessert spoon of honey) have a good effect in terms of preventing a strong cough.
Badger fat will help to stop the beginning cough. It has a warming and anti-inflammatory effect, and therefore is often used to treat and prevent colds. You can take fat inside, but it is better to rub it on the baby’s back in the area between the shoulder blades.
