In the treatment of bronchitis, colds cough, in addition to traditional warming ointments and mustard plasters, homemade flat cakes are used. The main ingredients in these medicines are flour and honey. Alcohol-based compresses are used only in the treatment of adults.
The limitations are due to the fact that alcohol can provoke a burn on the delicate skin of children. A compress of honey, mustard and vodka is contraindicated for persons with high skin sensitivity, a predisposition to dermatitis. Warming agents should not be used at elevated body temperature.
Vodka and mustard with honey for cough: a method of making a compress
Compress ingredients:
- Flour – 4 tbsp. l .;
- honey – 2 st. l .;
- mustard powder – 2 Art. l .;
- vodka – 2 tbsp. l.
Mix honey, mustard powder and vodka, heat in a water bath for 2-3 minutes. Add flour to the warm mixture and mix. Divide the dough into 2 parts, form cakes from them.
Wrap the compresses with gauze and attach tightly to the chest and back, avoiding the heart area. It is necessary to remove the warming agent no earlier than after 8 hours.
Mustard with honey for coughs for children
Mustard-honey cough cake for children is prepared without alcohol. Before applying the compress, the child’s skin should be treated with a fat baby cream.
Ingredients:
- honey – 2 tsp;
- flour – 3 Art. l .;
- mustard – 2 tsp;
- sunflower oil – 1 tsp
Combine all ingredients, except flour, in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Add flour and knead the dough. Divide the compress into 2 equal parts, wrap each of them with gauze. Apply the product to the chest and back of the child, fix and wrap well. The compress is removed after 7-8 hours.
