20 years, 25 years, 30 years of difference… no age difference scares the cougar woman. Attracted by younger men, the cougar makes them fantasize and showing off in her company is even trendy. What attracts a young man to a mature woman? Toy boy or gigolo, what consideration for the partner of the crunchy man?

Entered into common vocabulary with the release in France of the American series Cougar Town, Courteney Cox headlining, the term cougar woman has become all the more popular as the practice has become commonplace. More and more, show biz stars all over the world are showing off in public with partners younger than themselves. 10 years between Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake, 15 years between Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, 20 years for Claire Chazal and her young partner, Madonna even appeared for a time with a dancer 30 years her junior. More than a fad or a challenge, being a cougar woman is seen as a claim: giving yourself a makeover by posing alongside a younger lover is no longer reserved for men, and male chewers now compete with men and women in a perspective of affirmation of their sexuality and gender equality.

If the cougar is trendy, what explains such a craze for mature women, at least older?

The cougar woman has experience:

Over the years, the woman gains experience of life and sex. On this last point in particular, it is common knowledge that a mature woman has every chance of better satisfying her partner on the sexual level. Because she knows men better, but also because she knows herself better: in this context, she manages more easily to guide her partner to a shared pleasure that is all the more intense. Some take the exercise to resorting to cosmetic surgery: certain operations – remodeled breasts for example – are a source of male fantasies.

On the strength of her experience, the cougar is able to assert herself in all facets of her life. A feeling of freedom emanates from this mature woman, as if she does not need anyone. This apparent independence is also a strong pull factor for young men who are not looking for an ongoing relationship or some form of attachment.

The terms toy boy and gigolo are often associated with cougar woman. However, the cougar does not necessarily seduce the young man to make him his puppet, nor to maintain him financially in exchange for his sexual prowess.
