Ingredients

  1. Citrus vodka – 40 ml

In an interview with Cheryl Cooke in 1985, she claims that she single-handedly came up with the Cosmopolitan.

Although it is known for certain that at least 10 years before that, he was popular in gay bars in the United States.

Cheryl Cooke’s recipe looked like this: Absolut Citron vodka, triple sec orange liqueur, lemon juice, and some cranberries, which gave the cocktail its signature pinkish tint.

Bartender Toby Zizzini, who worked in New York, created his own version of the cocktail, based on Cook’s recipe. He replaced Triple Sec with Cointreau. This composition has become a classic.

As already mentioned, the cocktail was popular only in gay clubs for a long time, but after the release of the film Sex and the City, in which the main characters drank this particular drink, it became popular all over the world.
