Cosmetics that ruins your beauty
Let’s talk about the factors that negatively affect the condition of your skin.
Nowadays, they begin to use decorative cosmetics at least 13 years old. Few can afford luxury brands. But a brand or a high price tag does not always guarantee a good result. Together with a blogger, professional makeup artist, owner of a makeup studio in Moscow and founder of the online school Make Up for myself, Irina Golubeva, we identified 4 main reasons why cosmetics can have a negative effect on your skin.
1. The shelf life of cosmetics
It is often a pity to throw out foundation or mascara, especially if there is still a lot of product left in the bottle. But it can have negative consequences and affect the condition of the skin: it can cause redness, irritation, itching, blemishes and other unpleasant side effects.
Jars and tubes, lipsticks and mascaras have been stored in our cosmetic bags for years in the hope that someday we will be able to use them. And we use it, completely forgetting about the main thing – the expiration date.
The fact is that the components of modern decorative cosmetics are alien to the body. And the use of outdated cosmetics at least leads to rashes, burning, dryness, blistering rashes and, even worse, allergies. To avoid such consequences, we advise you to conduct an immediate audit of your cosmetic bag and get rid of unnecessary and expired funds.
Tip: to determine the expiration date of the product, carefully examine the packaging and find the batch code – a special code that combines letters and numbers, which is also the code of the consignment of the goods. It also contains information about the expiration date of the product.
Take care of your skin and do not use an expired product.
This is the first and most important factor that slowly but very surely damages the skin.
2. Budget cosmetics
Not every girl can afford Lux brands. But there are those means on which you should not save: tonal means and powder. Manufacturers of cheap cosmetics save on all components, getting a product that can lead not only to external changes in the skin, but also cause serious diseases, such as cancer. In addition to the above side effects, the application of a similar composition to the skin affects the hormonal background and can subsequently lead to infertility.
The composition of low-quality products may contain petroleum products, silicones, mineral oils, phthalate, as well as toxic substances (phenol and formalin derivatives). As a result, the pores are clogged, other negative consequences appear, which will be difficult to get rid of. In the end, treatment will cost more than a quality foundation.
Tip: carefully read the composition of the product. Try to avoid harmful substances and do not skimp on foundation and powder. These products are in direct contact with the skin and affect it more than any other means.
3. Products for the eyes
Discomfort on the mucous membrane or eyelid is most often manifested due to low-quality cosmetics – mascara, eyeliner or shadows. In the process of prolonged wear, cosmetics can smear on the eyelids, and mascara begins to crumble. Particles of the product, which includes plastic, end up on the surface of the eye and on the mucous membrane. Subsequently arise itching, burning, redness… In the high-risk area there are allergy sufferers, people with increased eye sensitivity.
And if allergic reactions on the skin in most cases make themselves felt immediately, then eye changes when using cosmetics can appear much later. Accumulating for a long time, microparticles can contaminate the lacrimal canals and glands, subsequently causing cataract diseases and loss of vision.
4. Make up remover
Removing makeup is an essential part of your skin care routine and one of the keys to your beauty and health. Make-up removal must be carried out daily.
The following rules should be followed.
In no case should you rub the skin, squeeze and stretch it in an attempt to get rid of the make-up as soon as possible.
Do not wipe your skin with a towel after washing. It is better to use disposable wipes, which can only be used to blot the skin.
It is undesirable to use micellar water. Manufacturers, in an effort to make the product more stable on the market, most often add fragrances, extracts and chemical additives that cause an allergic reaction. In addition, many products leave a sticky layer that prevents the skin from breathing, tightens and dries it.
Tip: replace micellar water with makeup remover milk or soft lather.
