Cosmetic kerosene – what is it?
Cosmetic kerosene is simply liquid paraffin. It is produced by the process of multiple distillation from crude oil, shale tar, brown coal tar or peat. It is characterized by a thick, oily consistency, yellow color and a rather intense, not very pleasant smell.

Cosmetic kerosene – properties and purpose
Cosmetic kerosene is a specific that protects and beautifies hair. In order to protect the hair, it can be used both during cold winter and hot summer. The scalp and hair will be protected against the negative effects of weather conditions. Paraffin lubricates and moisturizes damaged and dry hair. Kerosene is also suitable for use after various treatments, e.g. dyeing.
Cosmetic kerosene reduces hair breakage. It prevents static electricity and makes them easier to comb. It smoothes and softens hair and gives it volume. Thanks to the use of paraffin, the hair becomes more flexible, arranges better and grows faster. Kerosene is a substance that does not penetrate deep into the hair. It stops on its surface, so it does not repair it from the inside.
Cosmetic kerosene is an ingredient of various products – it is contained in creams, lotions and other body care cosmetics. In addition, to strengthen the nails, you can do the treatment with slightly warmed cosmetic kerosene with the addition of lemon juice.
It should be remembered that kerosene itself does not have nutritional properties. Therefore, it is recommended to add various nutrients. Castor oil strengthens and regenerates hair, and nettle extract helps fight dandruff. Paraffin can be mixed with yeast, black turnip or vitamins A and E, which have a positive effect on hair growth. The price of cosmetic kerosene alone ranges from PLN 5 to PLN 10.

Cosmetic kerosene should be used a maximum of twice a week. Rub the kerosene into the scalp and spread it over the entire length of the hair. After 10 minutes, rinse the hair thoroughly and then wash it – even several times, as it is not so easily washed off.
