Taking a bath is a very pleasant and relaxing procedure in itself. And if you add herbal decoctions to the bath, it will have a healing effect, perfectly soothing and toning the skin, as well as cleansing it of impurities and toxins.

Preparing a relaxing bath

You can buy herbs for relaxing and healing baths in a pharmacy in dry form, or you can collect and dry them yourself. However, remember that it is better to collect plants outside the city, away from roads and industrial facilities.

Herbal home baths can be prepared in several ways. Place the herbs in a small container, cover with hot water, let it brew for 20-30 minutes, strain and pour into the bath. Or put the herbs in a small linen bag, also fill it with hot water, and then put the infusion and the herbal bag in the bath. Thanks to this, the herbs will give the maximum amount of nutrients.

You can make such bags in advance so that every time before taking a bath, you do not waste time preparing them.

You can also pour the herbs directly into the bath, but in this case, keep in mind that they will constantly stick to the body, which will require you to rinse with clean water.

To achieve the desired result from taking herbal baths, take them at least 1-2 times a week for 10-15 minutes. The water temperature should be about 38-40 degrees, that is, the bath should not be too hot or too cold.

Choice of herbs for taking a healing bath

If the purpose of your bath is to relax and unwind, choose herbs that have a special scent that can soothe and restore mental balance.

These plants include:

  • lavender
  • chamomile
  • melissa
  • valerian
  • elderberry flowers
  • hop

In order for a herbal bath to have a beneficial effect on the condition of the skin, providing a softening and nourishing effect, try to carefully consider the choice of herbs.

Otherwise, instead of a positive result, you will get a completely opposite effect.
