Top make-up artist, creator of the popular video blog Elena Krygina has published a book – a practical guide “Make-up” in the publishing house “ODRI”.
The editorial staff of Woman’s Day met with Elena and found out what role eyebrows play in make-up, how to make them perfect and spend no more than five minutes on makeup.
“You will need a makeup base with a scattering of reflective particles to give your skin a healthy glow,” says Krygina. – It will take three seconds to apply. Next, a light foundation, we spend a maximum of one and a half minutes on it. Then concealer on the under-eye area. The only thing that really needs to be paid attention, that is, for two minutes, is the eyebrows. If they are beautiful, then the face immediately looks fit, fresh, neat and not sleepy. But mascara on puffy eyes only makes the picture worse. Therefore, it is necessary to achieve the ideal tone and highlight the eyebrows, the rest can be completed during the day.
– A separate chapter is devoted to eyebrows in my book. They are your character, if the eyebrows are spread – you are predatory, well-groomed – and the face looks the same, careless – and everything else is careless. Eyebrows set the tone for all makeup.
Finding the perfect eyebrows is the easiest part in correcting them because you were born with your perfect eyebrows. Your natural arch of eyebrows appeared for a reason, it fully corresponds to the proportions of your face and is the most harmonious.
The natural arch is the base of the shape of your eyebrows, the direction in which you should move in the correction. The area where it passes is always a little convex, like a bed. In no case should you pluck it out. Even a couple of hairs! Because the bulge will not go anywhere – on the contrary, the eyelid will look swollen.
Next, you will determine what kind of eyebrows you will live with in relation to your style.
There is no specific ideal eyebrow shape. Graphic eyebrows or, conversely, easily combed up, wider, narrower – all this is already personalization of the shape of the eyebrows, but the harmony is set precisely by their natural arch.
Examine your brows in the mirror (no makeup, of course). Raise or frown them several times to make their natural arc more visible.
Select it, and you just need to remove all unnecessary.
There is a universal formula of the right proportions to help you intelligently adapt whatever brows you choose to your face.
The eyebrows originate at the point where their base is crossed by a vertical line running through the wing of the nose. There is also an opinion that the base of the eyebrow should be located at the point where this line runs from the inner corner of the eye to the eyebrow, but this theory does not allow to correct the shape of the eyes and the distance between them. For example, if the eyes are close-set, the base of the eyebrows oriented along them will bring the eyes even closer. Therefore, the wing of the nose is a more versatile option.
Draw another line, now through the wing of the nose and the outer corner of the eye. At the point of its intersection with the eyebrow, the tail should end.
Draw a line from the wing of the nose, but now straight across the outer edge of the iris. At the point where this ray crosses the eyebrow, there will be the most harmonious break in the eyebrow. The eyebrow will turn out to be gently curved, without sharp rises and falls. The ideal height of the break is the width of the eyebrow, that is, the lower border of the break lies at the level of the upper border of the eyebrow.
This scheme is universal and works on any person of any age. It makes the face look more well-groomed and younger, and its features are refined.
