Pr Jean-Michel Constantin, Head of the Resuscitation Department at Pitié Salpétrière Hospital answers the question: why new cases of coronavirus are still emerging every day despite confinement?
He indicates that this can come from several factors: confinement which is not total although well respected by the French, family clusters, possible contamination from caregivers, as well as patients who could still be contaminants after having contracted Covid-19.
As a reminder, the mode of transmission of Covid-19 is essentially through the fine droplets emitted when a person speaks, coughs or sneezes. It is for this reason that the mask becomes an ally in the fight against the epidemic linked to the new coronavirus. The mask is now compulsory in most cities in France, such as Paris, Bordeaux or even Lyon.
