Infectious disease scientists around the world are working to create vaccines that can prevent coronavirus infection. Domestic specialists are also developing their own versions of the drug from COVID-19.
Vaccines against the virus are being created in dozens of Russian laboratories, and one of them has just recently begun to be tested on volunteers.
In order for the drug to have the maximum effect, it will be administered twice. “The same gene is introduced on different carriers – this makes it possible to obtain protective protective immunity, and for an extended period of time,” – quotes the words of the director of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Gamaleya Alexander Gintsburg .
However, despite such a “booster” effect, the vaccine will protect the body from coronavirus infection for only two years.

It is quite possible that Western vaccines have a more prolonged effect. However, scientists from other countries are in no hurry to share their developments with their Russian colleagues, Gunzburg complained.
Measures are already being taken to establish production scaling. According to the scientist, mass vaccination in Russia will require at least 70 million doses of the drug.
