An information campaign has been launched to accompany the government’s COVID-19 vaccination program. From Tuesday, we can search for the necessary information on a dedicated website, and today a special hotline has been launched. Consultants on 989 will explain how the coronavirus vaccine works and why it is worth getting vaccinated.
- An information campaign on vaccination against the coronavirus has started
- The government has prepared a special website and a hotline
- We checked what you can find out by calling 989
- You can find more such stories on the TvoiLokony home page
Information about the COVID-19 vaccine
At www.gov.pl/web/szczepimysie, we can find information about who, when and where can get vaccinated. A step-by-step vaccination procedure is also described. By browsing it, we will also find out why it is worth getting vaccinated at all. For those interested, the National COVID-19 Immunization Program and a handful of news are available.
In the tabs, Internet users will find a short history of vaccines or descriptions of the first vaccination attempts. In addition, false information about the coronavirus vaccine is denied there, for example that it affects the human genome.

COVID-19 Vaccine Helpline
The same information can be obtained by using the helpline – at 989. It is XNUMX/XNUMX and free of charge, and not only Poles can look for knowledge about vaccines there. After dialing the number, choose the language of the conversation. In addition to Polish, English, Ukrainian and are available.
This afternoon the helpline was not overloaded, the connection with the consultant was practically instantaneous. Calls, as in all similar cases, are recorded and the caller receives information about the GDPR. Before the call is terminated, probably for statistical purposes, we are also asked about the province in which we live.
Poles living abroad can also call. If the local operators do not support special numbers, just dial the number – 22 62 62 989.
At the moment, the hotline is only informative, but when the vaccination program is launched, it will be possible to register through it and make an appointment for a specific vaccination date. This is scheduled for January 15th. During the registration process, the announced priority of applications is to be taken into account. Therefore, the first appointments for vaccinations will be medical staff, employees of the Sanepid and social welfare homes, and then seniors from nursing homes, teachers and soldiers. Vaccinations will be free and voluntary.
Helpline employees do not have time limits that can be devoted to a single interlocutor, so you can ask all your questions as you please.
Unfortunately, the campaign idea has one drawback. It does not include people who are digitally excluded. And in this group we can find, for example, many seniors. Not everyone has access to the Internet and not all have telephones with a numeric keypad. And the connection with the consultant takes place only after selecting the appropriate numbers.
