Should I leave the house?

People who have had contact with sick people, but feel completely healthy, are recommended by the GIS home quarantine, i.e. staying at home for a period of 14 days. You don’t go to work or anywhere else during quarantine. During this time, self-observation should be carried out, i.e. pay attention to whether we have symptoms such as fever, dry cough and shortness of breath. It is very important to take the temperature every day. When the thermometer shows above 38 degrees C, it is best to contact the Sanitary Inspectorate again – it may be necessary to isolate in the hospital and carry out diagnostics for coronavirus.

Can an employer order you to work from home?

The order to work from home, as long as the specificity of the work allows you to perform your duties remotely, should be treated as buisness order. If an employee does not want to work from home, he must provide the employer with arguments clearly justifying the refusal, otherwise he can expect consequences, including termination of the employment contract (such refusal is a breach of employment obligations). An employee should not suffer negative consequences if he / she is unable to work remotely, e.g. due to the housing situation. In such cases, the employer should release the employee from his duties during the quarantine period.

Can you get L4 for compulsory quarantine?

If you suspect a coronavirus infection, you can get L4. The quarantine decided by the sanitary inspector is the basis for the payment of both sick pay and sickness benefit. In the event of a child being quarantined, the parent may apply for a carer’s allowance. The basis for the payment of benefits is a document issued by the sanitary inspector. It must be delivered to the employer.
