The District Hospital in Zawiercie published on its profile in social media the news about the death of a nurse who was employed in the facility. The woman was infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and fought for her life in a hospital in Wrocław for two weeks. A nurse from Zawiercie is the fourth fatal victim of COVID-19 among medical personnel.
Nurse with COVID-19 is dead
As we read in the hospital’s statement, the nurse has been associated with the County Hospital in Zawiercie for many years. «She was a person completely devoted to patients. In the difficult and dangerous time of the pandemic, she was committed to fulfilling her duties, perceiving the nursing profession not as a job, but also a vocation to help other people »
The nurse was infected with the coronavirus while performing her duties. For two weeks she was treated in a hospital in Wrocław. Unfortunately, despite the doctors’ efforts, the nurse died.
Fourth death among medical personnel
On April 16, a 46-year-old physiotherapist from the Mazowiecki Specialist Hospital in Radom died. He was the first death toll of the coronavirus among medical professionals. A few days later, a 59-year-old nurse from the hospital in Kozienice died.
On May 1, the president of Radom, Radosław Witkowski, informed about the death of a paramedic from the Radom Ambulance Service in Radom about the death of a paramedic infected with coronavirus.
The last data on SARS-CoV-2 infections among medical personnel were presented by the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate on April 3. Since then, they have become much obsolete.
