The Ministry of Health informed on Saturday about 23 thousand. 764 new coronavirus infections. That’s about 1 thousand. 227 less than the day before and 1 thous. 812 less than last Saturday. The worst day of this fall in Poland was December 1st. Then there were 29 thousand. 64 infections.
Apparently we have the peak of the fourth wave of morbidity (but not hospitalizations and deaths) behind us. What both medical and mathematical specialists predicted happened – the most new cases were to be at the turn of November and December. At the same time, the worst forecasts of over 40 infections daily.

Wiesław Seweryn, a programmer and analyst, who regularly published detailed numbers, maps and charts (based on official data of the Ministry of Health) related to the coronavirus pandemic in Poland, wrote on Twitter about the fact that the number of infections is falling.
«The dynamics of the increase in the number of confirmed infections (7d) is 0,99»- Seweryn wrote, also presenting the graph of this indicator from the beginning of the year in Poland.
As you can see, this dynamics (ie the ratio of the average weekly number of infections on a given day to the average for the previous day) has been falling since November, but it reached the value below 1 for the first time since… July. The first month of vacation was the best in terms of the epidemic situation of the year. Then the third wave of the pandemic completely died out, the daily numbers of cases were double-digit. On July 5, the Ministry of Health reported only 38 new cases of COVID-19. Then a gradual increase began.

The average daily number of cases is finally declining
Currently, the average weekly daily number of cases (as of Friday) is 23. 83. This value remains above 23 thousand. from the end of November, it was subject to various fluctuations, but on December 10 it fell significantly for the first time in a long time compared to the previous day. On Thursday, December 9, it was 23 thousand. 366.
Unfortunately, this cannot be said for the death figures. On December 11, the health ministry announced that 486 people had died. Three days earlier, the death toll from the coronavirus was close to 600. The daily average for the past seven days continues to rise. It is now 400. A week earlier, that value was 360.
