Cooking tour: seven sandwich recipes from around the world
A sandwich is a world-wide snack. In any country, there are a dozen or two variations of this simple, but very tasty dish. We offer you to learn some interesting recipes for festive sandwiches from around the world.
Sprat nostalgia
Immensely loved in our country, sprat sandwiches are also popular among other peoples, especially in the Baltic States. They prefer very colorful combinations. Grate 100 g of hard cheese, mix it with the same amount of mayonnaise and melted cheese, add 2 cloves of crushed garlic. Fry thick slices of baguette in oil, grease with sauce, spread sprats on them. We cover a large dish with lettuce leaves, spread sandwiches on them and decorate with dill sprigs. This snack comes from childhood and will quickly raise the mood of the guests.
Nordic passion for fish
In Denmark, sandwiches, or rather smerrebreds, have become a business card. In Copenhagen, there is even a restaurant offering about 250 mini-sandwiches for every taste. The Scandinavian soul tends to fish, which is reflected in the recipes of Danish sandwiches. Mash with a fork 400 g of canned cod liver and mix it with 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tsp olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Add 2 grated boiled eggs, a clove of garlic and onion marinated in vinegar. Generously lubricate the paste dried toast from black or white (ed. 25.01.16) bread and serve beautifully on a plate. This harmonious combination will surprise even discerning gourmets.
Brave tartlets
It is believed that the hamburger came to the New World from Germany, after which it became famous all over the world. However, other German sandwiches, though not so stellar, are no less delicious. Cut into strips 150 g of pork and fry with salt and spices. We make a salad of pickles that are at hand: olives, pickled cucumbers or tomatoes. Finely chop the ingredients, you will need about 200 g of this salad. Lubricate the finished tartlets with a mixture of 3 tbsp. l. sour cream and 1 tsp. horseradish, spread the fried meat and cover with a salad. Such a sandwich will be warmly approved by the representatives of the brutal half of the guests. However, the other half will not remain on the sidelines.
Cheese masterpiece in miniature
In Italy, sandwiches are appetitiously called bruschetta and are created like art canvases. A rare Italian sandwich goes without one in a thousand cheeses. Cut the baguette into slices, rub with garlic and olive oil and brown in a dry pan. Knead 200 g of ricotta and grease it with slices of bread. We disassemble a bunch of large red grapes into berries, sprinkle with olive oil and bake in foil for 5-7 minutes at 200 °C. Spread the berries on the bruschetta and decorate with whole walnuts. A little Italian flavor will enliven any feast.
Incendiary impromptu
The Spaniards are famous for their great love of small snacks. They are able to make them from any ingredients. Spanish tapas sandwiches are a whole philosophy. Brown 2 cloves of garlic and a little chili pepper in olive oil to taste. Pour 150 g of peanuts to them and fry until golden brown. Grind all the ingredients in a blender into a homogeneous mass and, if necessary, dilute with olive oil. Cut the baguette into slices, lubricate with nut paste, spread the circles of tomatoes (you can preheat them on the grill) and cover with thin strips of smoked bacon. This delicious treat will be a bright opening of the festive dinner.
The Tower of Satisfying Abundance
The main forge of hamburgers, and with them all fast food — the United States. Among the abundance of American sandwiches or club sandwiches, there is a decent treat for everyone. Dry 4 thin square slices of bread in a toaster and grease each with mayonnaise. On the first toast, put strips of fried bacon and the second toast. Cover it with a lettuce leaf, tomato mugs and a third toast. Then follow the pieces of turkey (it is better to cut it into strips) and the final toast with mayonnaise. Tightly press the sandwich, cut diagonally and pierce the halves with skewers through. Such an epic sandwich in no time will satisfy the most fierce hunger.
Fiery messages
A burrito can be considered a Mexican sandwich. Although, in fact, this is a flatbread with different fillings, which you can fantasize with endlessly. Whisk together 4 tomatoes, ½ red onion, ½ chili pepper, a clove of garlic and the zest of ½ lemon. Pour in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and add the second half of the red onion cubes-the signature salsa sauce is ready. Mix 200 g of boiled rice, 400 g of red beans and corn, 150 g of grated cheese and 3 tbsp of chopped coriander. Spread the filling on the finished tortillas, pour salsa, roll up the rolls and heat for 15 minutes at 220 °C. Hot burritos are the perfect dish for dinner in a large friendly company.
