Controloc Control – contraindications, side effects

Controloc is a delayed-action family medicine and gastroenterology drug (symptoms disappear after about a day after taking the preparation). Protium treats the symptoms of reluctance disease – it inhibits the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. The drug is available over the counter.

Controloc indications for use

Controloc and contraindications and warnings

  1. A contraindication to taking Protium is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients or soy.
  2. Do not use the preparation in parallel with atazanavir.
  3. Do not use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  4. Do not use in people under 18 years of age.
  5. Before using Controloc, malignancy should be excluded as a possible cause of the symptoms.
  6. A doctor should be consulted immediately if the symptoms include weight loss, frequent vomiting, difficulty swallowing, vomiting blood, tarry stools, pallor, weakness, chest pain, abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea during or before using the preparation.
  7. Do not use the preparation for more than 4 weeks without consulting a doctor.
  8. Patients over 55 years of age taking regular indigestion or heartburn medication should inform their doctor.
  9. A doctor should be consulted in the event of peptic ulcer disease or a history of gastric surgery, jaundice or other liver disorders, changes in the nature of symptoms, concomitant other serious diseases, as well as planned endoscopy or urease test and blood tests.
  10. The preparation contains soy lecithin and should not be used if you are allergic to peanuts or soy.
  11. The use of the preparation in pregnant women and during breastfeeding is contraindicated.
  12. People driving motor vehicles should be especially careful as the drug may cause side effects that may impair psychophysical fitness (dizziness and headaches, blurred vision). If these symptoms occur, you should not drive.
  1. Please inform your doctor about all the recently taken drugs.
  2. Do not use with atazanavir.
  3. The use of the preparation may reduce the effectiveness of ketoconazole and other drugs.
  4. In the case of using anticoagulants (eg phenprocoumon, warfarin), consult a doctor before using the preparation; you may need additional blood tests.
  5. Do not use with drugs that reduce the amount of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, e.g. other proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, lansoprazole, rebeprazole) or drugs that block the action of the histamine H2 receptor (ranitidine, famotidine).
  6. If necessary, it can be used with antacids, e.g. magaldrate, alginic acid, sodium bicarbonate, aluminum hydroxide, magnesium carbonate.

Controloc – side effects

  1. anaphylactic reactions (angioedema, i.e. swelling of the face, lips, mouth, throat and / or tongue that may make it difficult to breathe; hives; severe dizziness and increased heart rate; profuse sweating);
  2. severe skin reactions (rash with swelling, blistering or peeling of the skin; bleeding around the eyes, nose, mouth or genitals; rash on exposure to light; rapid deterioration of the patient’s condition);
  3. severe liver damage (symptoms: yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes);
  4. severe kidney disease (symptoms: lower back pain with fever; painful urination);
  5. headache and dizziness, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, vomiting, gas, drowsiness, rash, itching, hives, dry mouth;
  6. increased liver enzymes, malaise;
  7. visual disturbances, pain in joints and muscles, swelling of the limbs, aggression, depression, hallucinations, liver failure, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, decreased sodium level in the blood (hyponatraemia).
