Contrast shower: how to take it for the benefit? Video
Who among the fans of a healthy lifestyle has not heard of contrast douches? Typically, townspeople love to invigorate their bodies in the morning with a hot and cold shower, which improves blood circulation, refreshes the skin and energizes the whole day. However, this procedure has not only benefits, but also harm. Therefore, you need to take it right.
What are contrast douches?
The most beneficial effect of a contrast shower is achieved through a sharp change in high and low temperatures. To begin with, the body should be well warmed up by standing for several minutes under warm or hot water, after which it should be abruptly changed to cold water.
Remember that the difference between the temperatures should be at least ten degrees, and it is advisable to change the shower modes three or four times.
The correct contrast shower can be compared to the hardening of metal, when red-hot steel is dipped in ice water, after which it acquires completely different properties. Contrast dousing has approximately the same effect on the human body – organs, tissues and the nervous system begin to function much more actively and productively. This rejuvenates a person, restores his strength, vigor and good mood for a long time. Contrast douches are very effective in the treatment of depression.
The change in temperature normalizes the endocrine system, which, under the influence of stress, releases adrenaline into the blood. This hormone instantly mobilizes all life processes and gives the body the strength necessary to resist viruses and the development of internal pathologies.
The state of the immune system is also normalized. Contrast douches train the vessels, as a result of which the walls of the capillaries acquire good elasticity and begin to provide vital organs with sufficient blood and oxygen necessary for their normal functioning.
In addition, a change in temperature speeds up metabolic processes, which significantly strengthens the immune system and prevents colds.
Fading skin under the influence of a contrast shower regains a second youth and is smoothed. The capillaries located in its deep layers improve their tone. All stagnant processes disappear, and the lymph flow returns to normal, as a result of which the likelihood of cellulite and early wrinkles is reduced. The cosmetic effect of douches is difficult to overestimate, since the effect of cold on facial tissues (cryomassage) is widely used in modern cosmetology.
Due to the sharp expansion of blood vessels, body tissues sweat well and remove fluid along with sweat. Simultaneously with the liquid, various toxins and toxins are removed, which significantly improves the functioning of all organs and returns a person to excellent health.
Danger of contrast douches
The wrong approach to performing this procedure is fraught with certain problems. Some people do not want to freeze during a contrast shower and replace the cold water with a cool trickle. This is fraught with colds and inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system (especially in women), respiratory tract and musculoskeletal system.
Among the contraindications to contrast drenching are the following factors in which it is strictly forbidden to do this procedure:
- malignancy
- blood diseases
- diseases of the cardiovascular system
- thrombophlebitis
- hypertension
- angina
- urological and gynecological problems
- infection
In these cases, contrast dousing can be more harmful than beneficial.
It is also undesirable to use drenching for pregnant and lactating women, since the adrenaline released during the procedure can negatively affect the child.
To get the effect you want from douches, start a contrast shower with a five-minute exposure to warm water (35–39 degrees). Then raise the temperature sharply to 45 degrees and stand underwater for 3 to 5 minutes.
Make sure that the water does not burn the skin; otherwise, you may get a thermal burn
After warming up the body, turn on not very cold water (about 25 degrees), pour it into a basin or bucket and begin to cool the skin from the upper part of the body. Then you can reduce the temperature of the water to a lower one, but do it carefully, without testing your limit of holding.
When pouring a contrast shower, remember that you always need to act on the body with hot water longer than cold water. At the same time, the temperature difference should not be too sharp – for a start, 10 degrees will be quite enough.
Do not expect an instant result from contrasting douches – it will appear only after daily and systematic use of hot and cold water. From the beginning of the procedure and until a noticeable improvement in health can take from a week to several months, since each organism is individual. You should also take into account the neglect of diseases, the condition of which must be closely monitored throughout the course.
You need to start pouring only after a general examination, an electrocardiogram, tests and recommendations from a doctor who can protect you from the unexpected consequences of this wonderful but unsafe procedure.
