Keep reading aloud even to schoolchildren, researchers from the University of Cambridge (UK) advise. Led by Dr. Christina Clark, psychologists found that 53% of parents read to their 4-year-olds daily. And only 21% — children 9-12 years old. Meanwhile, reading aloud every night “for the soul” develops imagination and perception, significantly expands vocabulary. The voice of the parents allows children to feel not only the punctuation, pauses, change of tone when asked, and the rhythm of the work, but also its charm. So reading turns from a boring duty into a pleasure, into an interactive adventure for adults and children.
