Independent connection of the gas column is not an easy task. You can’t do without special skills. Therefore, if you have no idea how the design works, it is better to contact a specialist. Consider the points that home craftsmen need to know: what documents will be required, what tools should be prepared for the correct installation of the device with your own hands.
What is required for proper installation?
Before starting work, the most important thing is to collect the necessary documents. You need to be confident in your abilities to carry out the installation and safely operate the device.
Installation in an apartment or in a private house will be easier if there was already a water heater in the room. In this case, you will simply need to install the new model in the old place, and the assembly of documents will not take much time.
Where to begin:
- Contact the Housing Office;
- Obtain from employees plans for chimney, water and gas supply;
- Get an installation plan and characteristics of the equipment that was in the house earlier, if you don’t have it right away.
With this package of documents you apply to the gas service. There you write an application for permission to install new equipment or replace the old one. If the pipes in the room are not suitable for the column, write an application for their replacement and attach to the rest of the documents.
After that, it remains to wait for the repair to be completed, and then you can already proceed with the installation of equipment.
How to connect a gas column for the first time? In this case, the process of collecting the necessary documents is somewhat more complicated. What you need:
- Documents for equipment (technical passport);
- An act that indicates the condition of the chimney;
- Equipment installation project;
- Documents for an apartment (house).
As in the first case, you need to write two statements: on the implementation of installation work and on the reconstruction of the home. As soon as you finish walking around the offices and collect everything you need, the gas service employees will install the device. But this is not the end.
Has the work been completed and the meter sealed? Then:
- Obtain an act from the fire service and technical supervision;
- Act on the introduction of the column into operation;
- Submit your new project to BTI.
This is the right way to approach the organization of hot water in the house.
Basic requirements, rules and methods of connection
According to the norms, it is far from possible to hang a column of the Neva, Astra, Bosch or some other brand in every room. Previously, legislation allowed installation in a toilet or bathroom. Today it is either a kitchen or non-residential premises.

Important requirements:
- When choosing the power of the product, pay attention to the area of u0,2buXNUMXbthe room. For every kilowatt, there is XNUMX m³ of air volume.
- Be sure to have ventilation, windows, vents. The doorway must be at least 80 cm wide.
- The height from the floor to the body must be at least 1 meter. Therefore, the height of the ceilings should be about 2 meters.
- The walls are only made of non-combustible material. It is strictly forbidden to place the device on wooden walls. Additionally, the installation site is protected with basalt cardboard and galvanized sheet (1 mm).
- The device is hung on the included bar. If the kit does not provide fasteners, then use dowels (8-10 mm) or screws with a hat.
- A gas valve is being installed nearby. Its handle is dyed yellow.
- Water supply. For cold, it is desirable to install a separate pipe coming from the riser. For hot, it is better to take a pipe made of stainless steel or copper.
Installation
When tying, you need to follow the scheme:
Prepare tools and materials:
- Pipe for removal of combustion products;
- Water and gas pipes;
- Keys, taps and fittings;
- Corrugation;
- Drill, perforator;
- Water filter (optional).
In order for the products of combustion to be removed correctly, the organization of the chimney is required. But first check the presence of traction, whether the channel is functioning normally.
Connection to chimney
To check the draft, bring a lit match to the ventilation hole. If the channel is working properly, the flame will deviate to the side. If it deviates weakly, you need to clean the mine. Without this, installation cannot continue.
Normally, the thrust indicator is 1,96-29,40 Pa.
A steel pipe or a corrugated sleeve is used to remove combustion products. The wall thickness must be at least 1 meter.
The column body is located at a distance of 10 cm from the plate. If the panel has a viewing window, it should be at eye level. One end of the steel pipe is put on the column nozzle, and the other is brought to the vent. When building up, a special sealant is used as insulation.
The corrugated pipe is attached in the same way, but is additionally fixed with a steel clamp. No more than three bends are allowed.
Gas supply
After finishing work with the chimney, you need to connect the gas. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Each column model has fittings for water and gas. They may vary in color. Connect the hose to the appropriate fitting. It is recommended to use a bellows hose that will withstand aggressive gas environments.
To connect the fuel, it is better to contact a specialist.
Connections can be isolated with Tangit, FUM polymers or rubber gaskets. A tee cuts in to connect to the gas pipeline. You can use a welding machine.
Water connection
The eyeliner can be arranged from the main riser or wiring. For the column, it is recommended to carry out a separate pipeline, since when the water is drained in the toilet bowl, the device may go out, pressure drops will occur.
If you choose PVC or propylene pipes, then you will need a welding machine for tapping. Metal-plastic pipes are installed using tools: a drill, a hacksaw, an adjustable wrench.
Water hoses are led to fittings and secured with nuts or fittings. For hot water, some users use a coaxial hose. It is resistant to expansions that can occur when heated.
