How to congratulate Ivan Kupala
- Our ancestors celebrated Ivan Kupala in nature and this is a good tradition! In the morning, together with your family, you can go to the forest or in the field to collect healing herbs – this is a great pastime, and besides, with benefits, medicinal plants will always come in handy. And at the same time, you can teach children to recognize plants.
- It is useful to spend a day on the river and be sure to swim – they say that water on Ivan Kupala has life-giving properties. You can also weave wreaths, make a wish and throw them into the water. According to popular belief, if the wreath does not sink, the wish will come true.
- An excellent tradition on this day is to decorate a Kupala tree. It can be birch, maple or apple tree. Our ancestors decorated it with wreaths, flowers, fruits and ribbons. It’s like New Year’s Eve, only in summer!
