Conference and exhibition on the occasion of the National Transplant Day in the Senate of the Republic of Poland on January 27, 2022.

We are pleased to announce that our Foundation is the originator and co-organizer of the Conference as part of the celebration of the National Transplantation Day in the Polish Parliament, which will be held on January 27, 2022 in the Senate of the Republic of Poland at 11. The conference will be accompanied by an exhibition entitled “Bionic revolution. A fascinating story about the creation of a 3D bionic pancreas “, prepared by the Foundation for Research and Science Development

Our partners are the Foundation for Research and Development of Science and the Association Life after Transplant, and the host and co-organizer is the Senate of the Republic of Poland, of which we are extremely proud and honored. that almost the entire world of Polish transplantology will be present, apart from, of course, patient organizations. But he announced his presence, among others Mr. Ombudsman for Patients’ Rights, Poltransplant, Ministry of Health, Polish Transplantation Society and, of course, the Speaker of the Senate, Prof. Tomasz Grodzki, who is also a transplantologist.

The conference will be chaired by senator prof. Alicja Chybicka, who is the chairman of the Parliamentary Team for Transplantation and the Parliamentary Team for Children in the Senate, as the host and co-organizer of this beautiful and momentous event, which will be an excellent opportunity not only to present the current activities of the invited guests, but will also give an opportunity for a modest integrating our community, despite the pandemic situation, this is undoubtedly a very special event for several reasons. Namely, the great advantage of this conference is the fact that it is a purely patient initiative, represented by a modest, but extremely ambitious and hard-working Foundation, which, despite its short internship, managed to achieve so much for its patients and the whole environment, as exemplified by this conference. . In addition, the proposed topics for the speakers’ speeches will take us first to the beautiful sources of Polish transplantology, to finally move us to the incredible and spectacular, as it seems now, solutions that may soon become our reality. And all this in the heart of Polish democracy, which is the Parliament of the Republic of Poland.

At this point, let me quote a fragment of the letter I sent to the Marshals of both Houses: “It would be a great honor for us to organize with you this beautiful and eloquent initiative of the Transplantation Day celebration with an exhibition of works in the walls of the temple of democracy, which is the Parliament of the Republic of Poland, over all divisions and against these divisions for the good of Polish transplantology, and in particular for all those who are waiting for the miraculous gift of a second life, just like me with my brother 20 years ago ”. Thus, our Foundation also shows other organizations that even such a modest 2-person organization that started from scratch, for the time being finances its activities only from its own resources, but if it has clearly defined social goals and gives its heart, it can do things great.

At the same time, I would like to inform you that this year is the 20th anniversary of those traumatic moments, which is why I am starting the campaign entitled “From transplant to IRONMAN -20 years after dramatic liver transplantation” to which prof. Waldemar Patkowski from the hospital at Banacha Street, which made my second life, and together we want to present this unique story wherever we are invited. The conference will begin with the ceremonial opening of the above-mentioned exhibition in the hall on the ground floor of the Senate of the Republic of Poland at 11, followed by a press conference in a traditional place on the first floor. Then, the ceremonial opening of the main part of the conference will take place in the Plenary Hall of the Senate of the Republic of Poland.
