The products offered by the brands in question are in the same price category, so there is often competition between them. Let’s try to figure out what the Beko and Indesit automatic washing machines (CMA) have in common and how they differ.
Who owns the brands?
Our consumers, choosing a washing machine, tend to pay attention to the country of origin. Moreover, for most buyers this criterion is key. Find out who owns the trademarks in question and where the production facilities are located.
What is known about brands:
- BEKO is a Turkish brand. Owned by Arçelik, it is the largest manufacturer of home appliances in Turkey and Europe. The Russians got acquainted with the brand in 1997, and in 2006 the Turkish company opened its factory in Russia. Beko products are exported all over the world, including to Germany.
- Indesit is an Italian brand owned by the Whirlpool Group. This is an international group of companies, which Indesit Company entered in 2014. Washing machines are produced at factories in Italy, Slovakia, and Russia.
Italian technology has always been in demand in Russia, it is, of course, inferior in reliability to German, but it is much more affordable. Turkey is more familiar to buyers for consumer goods, but today this country is experiencing an industrial take-off – Turkish factories produce washing machines for some European brands. When buying German SMAs, consumers often do not even pay attention to the fact that their country of origin is often Turkey.
Main criteria
The cars produced by the Turkish and Italian brands are so similar – in terms of price, functions, parameters and reviews, that it is very difficult to immediately say which is better. Let’s try to compare them by key criteria.

- Price. The cost of Italian CMA is in the range from 11 to 080 rubles, Turkish – from 35 to 990 rubles. As you can see, the prices are about the same. It is important to find out what is hidden behind the price – what are the capabilities of competing devices.
- Design. There is nothing particularly outstanding, ultra-modern and cosmic in the appearance of the SMA of both brands. But “Beko” still outperforms the “Italians” a little, since they, in addition to standard white models, have gray and black counterparts. They also have a more interesting front door design.

That is why it is better to immediately embed a white device in order not to have problems with its appearance in the future. Or choose models that use dark plastic.
- Build quality. The Italian manufacturer is ahead of its competitor – it has a lower percentage of defects and less breakdowns. Experts make such conclusions on the basis of statistics on workshops and services. The most unreliable element in Indesit is door handles, which, of course, does not do credit to the manufacturer. But since this is not critical, Indesit still outperforms Veko machines, in which motors burn, belt drives, heating elements and pressure switches break. Consumers are often dissatisfied with the Turkish assembly, and according to large service centers, factory defects approach 30%, which is unacceptable for a reputable manufacturer.
Which machine is better – a comparison of two models
Based on a superficial comparison, it is difficult to say unequivocally which option is better. Although those who appreciate quality will no doubt be more supportive of Indesit. But statistics cannot be completely trusted – they are not the last resort. To complete the picture, let’s compare two popular models from each manufacturer. Brands offer CMA at about the same level – they are similar in appearance, design and functionality. Representing one price range, competitors are most distinguished by build quality and reliability.
