A tool that you can always use to create a beautiful skin tone, sculpt your face for professional make-up and simply create the sun-kiss tanning effect – blush. This time, Woman’s Day selected and tested a peach shade compact blush.
CARGO, blush Cosmetics BeachBlush, 1400 rubles
Vasilisa Naumenko, beauty editor:
American Cargo cosmetics are slowly but surely winning the hearts of Russian consumers. I had heard about this beauty brand for a long time, but I was not personally familiar with the products, so the BeachBlush blush in my cosmetic bag is a debut.
Initially, the unusual packaging attracts: the blush is presented in an iron, unremarkable, but at the same time very stylish jar. Opening the lid, now lovers of peach shades will understand me, we see four ideal colors of blush and bronze. The harmonious set can be used together or, if you like lighter, gently pick only two shades with a brush: light beige and peach. Each color contains finely crushed, shiny particles that give the skin a soft, iridescent glow.
Usually I use blush only in combination with the tone, but for the sake of experiment I tried to use them myself – the color turned out to be a little bright, so I had to blend them with my fingers and on loose powder – the effect turned out to be almost the same as with foundation, but in the first In this case, the shade is slightly softer and lighter.
There are no drawbacks, except for one: a brush does not go with the blush. But I usually do not carry tone-creating products with me, because as you know, if you apply tone, highlighter and blush again over the finished makeup, there is a risk not to renew the makeup, but to overdo it and create an unnatural shade of the face.
Clarins, cream blush Multi-Bush, shade 01 Peach, 1500 rubles
Nastya Obukhova, editor of the Fashion and Shopping section:
I liked this blush very much. Despite the fact that the composition contains many different waxes of natural origin (mimosa, rose and sunflower), Clarins Multi-Blush is hardly greasy. No stickiness is observed upon application. They lie in a very thin translucent layer, so it is difficult to overdo it with them. The face looks very natural: it seems as if a natural blush is glowing on the cheeks. In my opinion, the definition of “cream” does not apply to this particular product at all.
Yes, in a jar, blush looks like lipstick (by the way, the manufacturer recommends using them in this capacity too). In fact, when the product touches the finger, it instantly turns into powder. It is not easy to distribute such a texture over dry skin, so I advise you to thoroughly moisturize your skin and only then start creating a natural blush.
It seems to me that this product is ideal for girls who do not use liquid foundations. With translucent powder, Multi-Blush is perfectly combined. The main thing is to apply them under powder, and not vice versa.
Catrice, Defining Blush compact blush, shade 090 Mandy-rine, about 250 rubles
Nastya Obukhova, editor of the Fashion and Shopping section:
I did not know anything about the Catrice brand until I got the blush of this brand for testing. Before using Google: it turned out that Catrice is a product of the German company Cosnova Beauty, which also includes the well-known essence brand. All Catrice cosmetics are sold at very reasonable prices.
My blush, for example, costs about 250 rubles. I want to note that the quality is quite good for this price. My “experimental” proved to be excellent in battle: the pigment lay well on the skin and was easily shaded. This blush, it seemed to me, fits well on slightly powdered skin, even without using a make-up base and foundation.
The color turned out to be very saturated, so you shouldn’t overdo it with them. I think the disadvantage of the product is inconvenient packaging: the transparent box is not equipped with a mini-brush or even a mirror. Those who like to carry with them trunks with cosmetics and tools for applying make-up, perhaps, will like this format.
Maybelline, blush Affinitone Blush, 300 rubles
Olga Turbina, editor of star news:
Blush makers describe it like this: natural color pigments provide easy application and all-day durability. Thanks to careful grinding, the blush formula is very delicate. They lie flat, easy to distribute.
For testing, I got tone-57 (peach), it looks very natural. However, the durability is not very good. If I apply blush on bb-cream, then the durability is about five hours, and if on bare skin, then no more than three.
For the most part, I’m happy with them. Their grinding is very fine, due to which the blush lies easily and looks quite natural. I was also very pleased that the blush was matte. They do not spill out of the box, do not crumble from the cheeks, do not generate dust and do not rise upward in a dusty cloud at each attempt to pick them up on the brush. I think this blush, in particular shade # 57, would work well for fair skinned people. I plan to use this blush now when my face is pale and unburned, and leave a brighter blush for the summer.
The packaging is plastic and not very elegant. It’s nice that the box has a separate compartment for the brush, which I personally liked. In any case, it is quite possible to use it if there is nothing better at hand. The mirror is not included in the package, which is a pity.
Givenchy, blush Le Prisme Blush, 1550 rubles
Kristina Semina, editor of the “Lifestyle” column:
Le Prisme Blush, Givenchy became a real boon for me! One package contains four shades at once, which can be used either individually or mixed with each other to create the desired tone! In general, here you can experiment and experiment! The main thing is that the result will always be excellent, since the shades are ideally combined with each other. By the way, there are four shades in the Le Prisme Blush collection – from light pink to peach. So choosing a blush that is suitable for your skin will definitely not be difficult. But the most universal seemed to me No. 23 – Africanado Peach (I have just such!). Now I’ll tell you about the texture of Le Prisme Blush, Givenchy.
It is very pleasant to apply, does not create a feeling of heaviness or other discomfort, and it also lasts all day long. And another significant plus of the blush palette is a compact mini-package that does not take up much space in a cosmetic bag. The only negative is the brush. It seemed to me that she was a little harsh, so I use mine for blush.
MAKE UP FACTORY, Rosy Shine Blusher, about 1400 rubles
Yulia Gaponova, managing editor:
I first met the novelty of the spring-summer MAKE UP FACTORY collection, Rosy Shine Blusher, when I was preparing material for our regular column “Wday tests”. In fact, I practically don’t use blush, the only thing is, sometimes I like to emphasize the cheekbones with a bronze shade of blush. It usually looks good on skin barely touched by the sun.
The MAKE UP FACTORY Rosy Shine Blusher (Rosy Breeze # 07) is perfect for brunettes. The palette perfectly combines three colors: almond, apricot and pink peony, and if you mix them and apply on the cheekbones, you get a very fresh and delicate color. The blush has a silky light texture and leaves a delicate glow on the skin.
I really liked that the product does not contain fragrances and mineral oils, and the original packaging and floral print on the surface of the blush themselves attracted attention – even in the coldest season, these flowers can create a spring mood.
Chanel, Joues Сontraste, 2100 rubles
Natalya Akimova, Wday.ru columnist:
I’m not an expert in blush – I just can’t learn how to use it. But I could not resist not to test Chanel. It is a pleasure to use this brand of blush: silk in texture, they are ideally typed on the brush. A brush, of course, you need to have a special one designed for blush. The one that comes in the set is formal.
They are shaded well. But there is a caveat: I tested a fairly intense, brick, shade. For my dark skin, it works well, but there is a high probability of overdoing it with color. On the first try, that’s exactly what happened. The unnaturalness of my “blush” became especially evident on the street. But the second time they managed to achieve the perfect shade.
