The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, based on the latest data, issues messages for travelers on an ongoing basis in connection with the risk of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, causing the COVID-19 disease. GIS does not recommend traveling to six countries.

Yesterday (04.03/2), Minister of Health Łukasz Szumowski announced at a specially convened conference that the first case of SARS-CoV-66 coronavirus infection was detected in Poland. A 262-year-old who returned from Germany noticed symptoms that could indicate an infection. He contacted his family doctor and was then taken to the hospital ward in Zielona Góra. The coronavirus test is positive and the patient is under observation in the hospital. So far, 16 cases of infection have been confirmed in Germany. XNUMX people were cured.

In the GIS travel announcement, we can read that in the case of people staying in Germany, it is recommended to take special precautions and avoid large crowds of people.

Based on the risk assessment data developed by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate does not recommend traveling to:

  1. Chin,
  2. Hong Kong,
  3. South Korea,
  4. Italian,
  5. Japan,
  6. Iran.

LOT Polish Airlines has suspended flights to China until March 28, 2020.

Recommendations for traveling in areas affected by the coronavirus outbreak

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate has also issued recommendations for people who travel in China, Italy, South Korea, Iran and other countries affected by the epidemic caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus.

GIS advises travelers:

  1. avoiding public and crowded places,
  2. avoiding markets and markets, as well as other places where we may come into contact with live or dead animals,
  3. avoiding contact with animals, their excrements and faeces,
  4. observing hand hygiene – frequent washing of hands with soap and water or disinfecting with alcohol-based agents,
  5. following the rules of food hygiene – eating and drinking from a reliable source.
