Commander (“Komandirskiy”)

The blend of cognac “Komandirsky” contains 10% French spirits, and Russian ones, from Krasnodar grapes, are distilled according to the French method. This allows us to talk about the relationship between products from the Cognac region and the drink offered by the Russian Traditions company. Komandirskiy appeared on the Russian market in 2006 and was immediately remembered for its original design. The drink is bottled with a triangular base and small flat flasks that fit comfortably in a hunter’s or angler’s backpack, briefcase or even the inside breast pocket of a jacket or jacket.

The Komandirsky trademark belongs to an active participant in the Russian alcohol market, Russian Traditions Limited Liability Company. There are more than a hundred drinks and 36 brands in the company’s case, but until 2016 there was no production of its own – they created blends and bottled drinks at different enterprises.

The Komandirskiy brand consists of two lines – vodka and cognac. In the vodka, in addition to Komandirskaya Russian Traditional, there are fruit and berry vodkas – Strawberry, Raspberry, Pomegranate, Lemon. The pomegranate infusion was used as a vodka ingredient for the first time, so the drink has no analogues in the world and received, as a reward for exclusive, the gold of the United Vodka competition in 2008.

The cognac group is represented by cognacs “Parisian Life”, “Jean Perrier”, “Dostoevsky”, “Main Brand”. But the flagship brand Komandirskiy is far ahead of other brands in terms of popularity among Russians.

At first, Komandirsky was produced in the Moscow region, at the Dmitrovsky distillery OstAlko. But in 2009, the Kaliningrad Distillery, founded in the post-war years on the territory of the old German distillery, was chosen for production. This company led the alcohol market in the USSR in the seventies and eighties of the last century. The Kaliningrad Distillery supplied its products to the Netherlands and Hungary, and for a long time cooperated with the German company Siemens, which contributed to the emergence of Russian alcohol on the German market.

But in 2007, during the period of mass privatization of enterprises, the main brands of the plant – “Bastion” and “Flagman”, were sold, and Komandirskiy began to be produced at the vacated capacities.

And only in 2016, the popular cognac began to be made at the enterprise, the founder of which was the Russian Traditions company, at the Kolomna Wine and Vodka Plant.
