Simple task. We have two columns with mutually non-intersecting data in the cells:
You need to combine data from two columns into one (for example, for further calculations, etc.) You can start thinking about formulas or even macros, but there is a simpler and more elegant way.
Select the cells in the second column and, by right-clicking on them, select the command Copy (Copy) (or press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C)
Select the cells in the first column and by right-clicking on them, select the command Paste special (Paste Special). You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + V. In the Paste Special Options window that opens, enable the checkbox Skip empty cells (Skip blanks) and click OK:
The data copied from the second column will be pasted into the first. In this case, empty cells from the second column will be skipped during insertion and will not overwrite the values from the first column. It remains to remove the second column, which is no longer needed, and that’s it:
Simple and effective, right?
