To combine or not to combine a bathroom and a toilet? If there are more than three people in the family and there is no second bathroom, it is better to leave everything as it is. For the rest, we offer four interior solutions for a combined bathroom.
Super compact: both bath and shower
Combined bathroom design
In this bathroom (4 m2) managed to compactly arrange an almost complete set of plumbing. The secret lies in the unusual shape of the bath and shower cubicle.
The beveled corner of the bathtub makes it possible to open the door wider, and the bevelled corner of the shower stall leaves a wide passageway into the interior of the room. A tall heated towel rail plays the role of a screen.
A cabinet with mirrored doors was hung over the sink. The upper part of the walls above the toilet and washbasin is also decorated with mirrors. This is the traditional way to visually enlarge the space.
Ceramic tiles only the lower part of the walls is laid out (up to a height of 1,5 m). The exception is the wall of the shower cabin – it is lined up to the ceiling. The rest of the surfaces are painted white. So you can level the low ceiling height. Sink (Keramag, Germany), bath (Duscholux, Germany), mixer (Grohe, Germany), toilet (Keramag), shower (Duscholux).

For fans of the classics: white interior
The interior of a small combined bathroom is quite traditional in layout and color.
The shower cubicle is installed in the corner, its glass enclosure is equipped with hinged doors (from the corner).
The plasterboard construction, which hides the wall-hung toilet bowl installation system, forms a convenient shelf for small items. An interesting idea – a plinth stand under the washbasin with a height of only 15 cm.
A pencil case and decorative wicker boxes were placed on this support.
This solution makes it easier cleaning the bathroom and protects furniture from water in the event of a leak.
For lovers of long water procedures, additional devices are provided, for example, a folding chair. By the way, it can also be used as a shelf for bath accessories. Cabinet (Duravit, Germany), shower cabin (Duscholux), sink (Duravit), shower rack (Hansgrohe, Germany).
The layout of this bathroom is quite simple: a shower tray installed in a niche and separated by a curtain, plumbing fixtures along a long wall.
But the color scheme of the interior is extraordinary.
The main white background (ceramic tiles) is lined with black and white decor and is supported by a striped curtain. But this black and white story would be boring if it weren’t for the bright red additions.
В deep red color the upper part of the wall and the ceiling are painted. In addition, the room is replete with red accessories: wicker containers, textiles, toilet seat.
An unusual storage system – a shiny metal box – sits next to the toilet. The lid of the box can be folded back, giving access to containers with household chemicals.
Opposite the entrance, a large mezzanine shelf is arranged under the ceiling. The shelf has a solid thickness, which made it possible to decorate its facade with black and white ceramic decor. This example shows that when decorating a bathroom, you can not be afraid of bright, saturated colors.
Two mirrored pencil cases on both sides of the washbasin enhance the decorative effect, visually enlarging the room. Toilet bowl (Keramag), holder (Heine, Germany), sink (Keramag), mixer (Grohe), cabinet (IKEA, Sweden).
To equip a shower stall, it is not necessary to purchase a pallet.
It is enough to competently organize the drain in the floor, and you will have a fashionable solution now – wet-room (translated from English. “Wet room”).
True, you will have to raise the overall level of the floor in order to provide the drain pipe with the necessary slope.
The waterproofing of the premises must be done with great care.
Such a solution is already becoming commonplace for country houses and baths, where you can be freer when laying out communications, but it is quite acceptable for an apartment.
Sliding glass cab doors save space.
This niche was formed after partial redevelopment of the premises. It has organized a wardrobe with built-in lighting and glass doors, decorated in the same way as the cabinet doors under the washbasin and a mirror above it.
To make such a bench, you need two brackets, eight wooden bars 66 cm long and 4 × 4 cm in cross section, and two additional bars for attaching the main ones to each other and mounting the seat. Perhaps the only limitation is if a person’s weight exceeds 100-110 kg. Then additional structural reinforcement is required.
