CombinArte 2014 – Ciudad Real

Throughout the month of July, the town of Ciudad Real presents us with a very original gastronomic initiative.

In this case we are not talking about food but about drink, with the celebration of the Combinarte event, which arrives in the capital of La Mancha in its second edition.

The Provincial Hospitality Association, in collaboration with the City Council, is repeating this year an activity that mixes, never better said, the art of cocktails with the most avant-garde cocktails.

There will be 14 establishments that will offer their clients, from July 1 to July 31, the most innovative creations by the city’s most famous bartrenders, turning the classic cocktails into true works of art for all audiences.

The selected drinks are with and without alcohol, so that the client can decide which one to choose, and as a characteristic value of the region, they must have a “touch of La Mancha”.

Not only do we know the stain from Don Quixote and cheese, in local production olives, thyme, saffron, melon and watermelon also stand out, and it is mandatory that some of these indigenous products are used in the production.

We already have another excuse to get closer to this La Mancha enclave and enjoy its culture and history:

  • We will be able to remember the entry into the city through the Toledo gate, the work of Alfonso X, and which is the only remaining gap in the old city wall.
  • The church of Santiago, that of San Pedro or that of Nuestra Señora del Prado are examples of the city’s Gothic triangle.
  • Or the most representative civil building, such as the Palacio de la Diputación, representative of the architecture of the late nineteenth century.
  • Museums like Don Quixote …

Architecture is art and during the whole month of July the cocktails too.
