Colorations, nail polish, cosmetics: are they harmful to health?
Mascaras, eye and lip pencils, eye shadows, foundations, face or body creams… Cosmetics offer a wide range of products. They are often without major health risks, but special attention should be paid to two components: parabens and alcohol.
Parabens (= esters of para-hydroxybenzoic acid) have been recognized as carcinogens and allergens. A buildup of these substances in breast tissue can cause breast cancer. These materials are easily absorbable, so their impact is direct. Alcohol, on the other hand, weakens the skin and makes it more vulnerable. If you want to consume responsibly, it is advisable to read the labels carefully when purchasing beauty products.
