The 32 Gastronomic Days of the Bierzo have already begun with the participation of fifty hospitality establishments.
Autumn is a perfect season of the year to visit Leon, its flavors and colors do not leave anyone indifferent, and the gastronomic days that take place from October 21 to December 8 are a good example of this.
At the opening ceremony on the 20th, the local businesswoman and president of the Pharmadus company, Beatriz Escudero, elected as maintainer for this year, left us some important details within the words of her opening speech.

The region of El Bierzo is a natural source of raw material that, from the chestnut, the conference pear, the apple or the pepper, makes us delve into some really interesting caloric specialties to combat the cold, such as the traditional botillo, always washed down with the excellent wines that the local Denomination of Origin protect under their guardianship.
Not in vain the products that are assigned to the two important denominations of origin, agricultural and wine, have the well-deserved prestige and quality that the DO Bierzo and DO Valdeorras brands treasure.
In the event, the Bercian hospitality, prepares and elaborates different menus based on local products, which range between the prices of € 20 and € 30 and with an unavoidable presence of them during the weekends that the days last. Every day, each establishment decides whether to offer them or not.
So that the conference has a gastronomic, but also tourist attraction, the establishments will also offer a children’s menu so that the whole family can enjoy the culinary excellence of Bercia, as well as gluten-free proposals for celiacs.
The gastronomic days are sponsored by various municipal and regional entities and by the Bierzo Hospitality Association and the Agatur Association (Tourism Technicians).
