Colchicum dispert is a tablet drug used to treat gout, its active substance is colchicine.
Colchicum dispert – contraindications
Contraindications for the use of the drug are the following factors:
- hypersensitivity to the compounds contained in the drug,
- serious heart problems
- severe stomach problems
- severe intestinal disorders,
- severe liver problems
- severe kidney problems
- hereditary galactose intolerance
- glucose-galactose malabsorption,
- sucrase-isomaltase deficiency,
- fructose intolerance,
- asthma,
- blood disorders,
- age under 18,
- pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Colchicum dispert – dosage
Dosage the medicine is determined by the doctor. In situations of intense gout attacks, adults usually take 1 tablet three times a day. It is inadvisable to use a combination doses a daily dose of more than 12 tablets. The drug is taken by swallowing and washing it down with water.

The drug can induce the following side effects:

- bone marrow failure,
- aplastic anemia,

Dizziness may occur after taking the drug, so driving or operating machinery is not recommended.

Overdose of the drug can be the cause of serious poisoning or even death. In case of overdose you should immediately contact your doctor or go to the hospital, it is necessary to rinse the stomach and administer activated charcoal.
Colchicum dispert – who should be careful?
The drug should be used with extreme caution in the elderly, with a weakened body, with heart disease or liver diseases. Patients who suffer from gastrointestinal disorders may experience an exacerbation of the symptoms of the disease (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain). Increased caution should be maintained by people with renal dysfunction.

The drug should be stored in a closed package at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius, out of the reach of children.
