King Tigran – vintage cognac, named after the ruler of Great Armenia, King Tigran II the Great from the Artashesid dynasty. He was distinguished by strength, wisdom and courage. He actively expanded the territory of the country, was engaged in the formation of the power of the Armenians and their statehood. His image is sung in twenty-five operas.
This brandy uses exclusively local grape varieties such as Voskehat, Garandmak and Chilar. They are grown in the Ararat valley. The drink is aged in oak barrels growing in the Caucasus for three years.

History of cognac Tsar Tigran
1905 The largest enterprise, the Artashat Wine and Brandy Factory, was founded on the territory of Armenia. During the Soviet period, its products were on the shelves of stores in all republics. When the state collapsed, the company was taken over by the Great Valley holding (translated as “Great Valley”). It got its name in honor of the Ararat valley.
1998 Cognac creator Robert Kazaryan. He was invited by the Armenian-Cypriot company “Great Valley” and offered to develop an exceptional drink. He absorbed the author’s innovations and wine-making traditions of Armenia.
2020 The modern line is represented by eight types of exposure from seven to twenty-five years. The price varies from 1000 to 20 000 rubles. It is still the standard of true Armenian cognac for its unique recipe.

3 years, 40%. Intense chestnut. Soft oily taste, revealing floral and spicy nuances in the finale. It smells of candied fruit and nutmeg with a touch of tobacco.
5 years, 40%. Dark copper. Rounded spicy with apple and pear notes. The aroma is woven from fruit, chocolate and tart nutmeg tones.
7 years, 40%. Deep copper color. Sweet velvety aroma with hints of raisins and prunes. Tart. The aftertaste is woven from coffee and vanilla notes.
10 years, 40%. Noble amber color. Round and soft with a chocolate aftertaste. The aroma bouquet opens first with dried fruits, then with vanilla and chocolate.
12 years, 40%. A classic representative of old cognacs. Chestnut with golden tints. The aroma is woven from hints of plums, cloves and spices from the East. Deep plum taste, smoothly turning into aftertaste.
15 years, 40%. Dark amber. It has a chocolate and oaky character with hints of caramel. The aftertaste combines vanilla and spicy notes.
25 years, 40%. Iridescent chestnut color. Fruity with tobacco nuances, the taste turns into somewhat spicy. Complex aroma combines cinnamon, chocolate and sweet spices.
30 years, 40%. Dark copper with golden tints. Slightly oily taste with dried fruit aftertaste. It smells of cherry, ginger, cinnamon and prunes.
Awards
In 1999 and 2000, at the Moscow professional competition, the drink was awarded the title of “Best Cognac of the Year”.
In 2011, he won a gold award in the category “Cognacs, Armagnacs and Brandy” at the British competition.
Interesting Facts
The Great Valley emblem depicts a lioness holding a spear in her paws. For Armenian folklore, she is a symbol of the mother-nurse. Strong drinks that can increase the strength of the heroes of epics were called “lion’s milk.”
Cognac has an extremely rich character, so it can outshine any combination of dishes.
The longer the spirits are aged, the darker the color of the final product becomes. And the older the oak used for the barrel, the deeper the taste.
