Briefly about the plant

AKZ LLC, located in the heart of the Ararat Valley at the foot of the mountain of the same name, has been pleasing consumers with excellent quality alcohol for more than 100 years. The company traces its history back to a small factory founded in 1887 by the merchant Nerses Tairyan within the walls of the Yerevan Fortress. Since then, the company has changed many owners and names.

For the production of alcohol at the plant, they use exclusively their own grape raw materials, harvested on adjacent plantations, which occupy over 250 hectares.

The special pride of the enterprise is the “Golden Fund”, which consists of aged vintage spirits aged 20 years.

Ordinary and exclusive drinks at the plant are produced according to classical French technology using modern European equipment.

History of the Sargis brand

Cognac “Sargis” got its name in honor of the famous Armenian commander and preacher, who spread Christianity in the country. Local legends say that Saint Sargis died along with his son Martiros and 14 warriors in the name of faith. Many legends and legends are associated in Armenia with his name, and in large cities, ancient churches dedicated to the great commander have been preserved.

He also became famous as the patron saint of lovers, who helped couples reunite after difficult trials. Therefore, in Armenia, lovers do not honor St. Valentine, but St. Sargis and celebrate their holiday at the end of January, and not in February, as is customary all over the world. On this day, young people tell fortunes about their betrothed, give gifts to each other and attend liturgies in churches.

  1. Ordinary cognacs “Sargis” 3 stars, 4 stars, 5 stars

    The 3-year-old drink is dominated by floral, vanilla and fresh fruit notes.

    Accents of honey and dried fruits appear in the 4-star.

    5-star cognac pleases with a soft, elegant and balanced taste with floral-fruity and woody tones. The amber hue of the drinks becomes more saturated as the aging time increases.

    Young “Sargis” is recommended to be served as a digestif, combined with coffee, fruits, desserts.

  2. Vintage cognacs “Grand Sargis”

    Represented by light drinks 6-, 7-, 8-year-old, more saturated 10-, 15-, 20- and 25-year-old samples, exclusive products of 30-, 40- and 50-year maturation.

    With increasing age, sweetish floral-vanilla notes in the cognac bouquet are replaced by velvety hints of bitter almonds, dark chocolate, ripe fruits and oak.

    The hue varies from dark gold to reddish and burgundy.

    Tasting aged “Sargis” is recommended as a digestif in its purest form.
