Composition of cognac “Hennesy” and homemade recipe

Despite the fact that the Hennessy recipe is kept strictly secret by the manufacturers, we can cook a very similar one right in our kitchen. Moreover, the real Hennessy is super expensive.

The classic composition of “Hennessy” includes a mixture of grape spirits. In our home version, I suggest taking ordinary medical alcohol, vodka, or several times distilled and purified moonshine. So, we will need:

  • Alcohol – 1500 ml
  • Allspice – 1 pc.
  • Carnation – 2 buds
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp. l
  • Black hot pepper – 1 pc.
  • Lemon zest – to taste
  • Tea – 1 tbsp. l

To begin with, we mix all the spices and spices, put them in a bag made of natural fabric and tie them tightly.

You can also use a tea strainer, but this is not Feng Shui. Okay, then let’s lower the strainer with spices into a jar and fill it with diluted alcohol vodka.

After that, you need to quickly close the jar with a nylon lid and put the semi-finished product in a cool place for 3 days. Remove the spice bag and discard, and leave the resulting tincture in a cool place for another 7-10 days.

To make the resulting drink as reminiscent of expensive cognac as possible, put oak chips and a little vanilla in it, and leave it for another two weeks. Pour the finished drink into a beautiful decanter and you can try.
