Coffee table decor with “mulled wine” style

Coffee table decor with mulled wine tile

The most cozy and aromatic winter drink is mulled wine. During a walk around the city, skiing or skating, and just from the cold – good!

Table decor

  • Small coffee table
  • Acrylic paints
  • Laser-printed recipes for various mulled wine
  • Instant coffee
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Aerosol gold or bronze paint
  • PVA glue
  • Aerosol acrylic varnish

Tools:

  • Glue gun,
  • sandpaper,
  • sponge for washing dishes

  1. Sand the surface of the table (table top and legs) with fine sandpaper to ensure that the paint adheres well. It is more convenient to work with the disassembled table.
  2. Mix black and reddish-brown paint unevenly on the palette. After dipping a sponge into the paint, apply it with a sponge to the surface of the countertop. On a part of the countertop, apply it with wide strokes so that the streaks of paint “read”. On the other part, apply paint with light touches to leave textured prints. Paint the table legs.
  3. Tear off the printed recipes for various mulled wine unevenly at the edges – it is better if the recipes themselves do not suffer.

  • Burn the edges of each piece of paper.
  • Before sticking on the surface of the countertop, immerse the paper in water and take it out immediately. Wet paper “stretches” better to the surface. Apply PVA glue, stick the recipe and remove excess glue from under the paper by ironing it with your hand. Leave room on the countertop for the trick pattern.
  • Make strong coffee. Tint recipes with them by applying the solution with a brush. The paper should be a pleasant golden color. Tint the edges of the paper pieces again to make them darker. Let the recipes dry.
  • Cut out a stencil from paper for the image of a saucer. Lay it on a surface, apply ivory paint with a sponge.
  • Stencil the images of several cinnamon sticks. Use a thin brush to paint in the details. To make the sticks look like real ones, decorate the edges with darker paint, make shadows. Make the highlights in a lighter tone.
  • Use dark paint to paint the shadow of the saucer. Draw the details of the saucer – depict the bottom, border, highlights.
  • Draw another cinnamon stick, a few cloves, and apple slices on the saucer. Draw in the details of the objects and their shadows. When the paint is dry, apply some gold spray paint. Spray the finished surface with acrylic spray varnish. Glue a real cinnamon stick with a glue gun.
  • By the way

In the described technique, you can make yourself or as a gift a beautiful box for storing spices. Mix paint on the palette – black and red-brown. Using a sponge, apply paint to the surface of the box. Prepare mulled wine recipes for work as described in the steps of the master class – tear off, burn the edges and glue. Make a strong coffee solution. Tint recipes by brushing on the solution. Stencil the cinnamon sticks.

Use a thin brush to paint in the details. Use a darker paint to paint shadows, and a lighter tone to make highlights. Draw an asterisk of an anise, a clove, a grain of pepper. When the acrylic is dry, lightly spray the box with gold spray paint – there should be a little gold. After drying, coat the surface with an acrylic spray lacquer. Use a glue gun to glue on a small stick of cinnamon.
