How to make coffee latte at home

Classic latte macchiato coffee

Ingredients for one serving: – ground coffee – 1 tsp; – milk 3,2% fat – 1 glass; – water – 0,5 cups In Italy they say that latte macchiato (translated from Italian – stained milk) it will be ideal if you use a coffee mixture containing at least 15-20% robusta for its preparation – one of the two types of coffee beans, it is also called Congolese. Robusta loses to Arabica in taste and aroma, but gives the drink an unprecedented strength and intense color.

There are two types of coffee in the world: Robusta and Arabica, also known as Arabian coffee. All other varieties of aromatic grains are varieties

Brew coffee in the usual way. You can use a coffee maker, a Turk, a coffee machine. In any case, the drink should be quite strong. Pour the milk into a separate container and heat it up a little, never bringing it to a boil, 50-60 ° C will be enough. You can do this on an electric or gas stove, or in a microwave oven (microwave oven will last 40 seconds at 600 W).

Now you have to beat the milk. Use a home mixer or blender, you can’t do it by hand. Beat thoroughly, at least 5 minutes, until an airy and fluffy foam forms. If you do not have a blender or mixer, you can take a French press (such a device with a mesh piston for brewing tea or coffee using the squeezing method), pour milk into it and, immersing the piston in milk, move it vigorously up and down. If you are not lazy and work hard, the foam will turn out to be rich and thick. Then carefully pour the milk into a transparent tall Irish glass or wine glass prepared in advance. On top, gently place the foam that remains in the blender or mixer.

Further – the most crucial moment, requiring skill and accuracy. Slowly pour the brewed coffee into the frothed milk in a thin stream. The trickle should be extremely thin and uninterrupted, this is the only way you get a real latte, the main distinguishing feature of which is the autonomy of each of the layers of coffee, milk and foam, they should in no case mix with each other. Provided the milk is whipped correctly and the coffee is carefully poured into it, you will get a charming and appetizing three-layer cocktail – coffee between milk and airy milk foam.

A deviation from the classic recipe is acceptable: for making a latte, you can use instant coffee, but of exceptionally high quality, then the final product will be slightly different from the classic latte

Hint: To prevent the layers from mixing, the coffee should be a few degrees hotter than the milk. You can also use this trick – take a teaspoon and lower it at a slight incline with the handle down to the very crema, but without touching it (literally 1-2 mm from its surface). Begin to gently pour the coffee in a thin stream into the spoon, from where it will flow relatively evenly over the handle into the glass.

To finish off your classic latte, you can sprinkle the milk froth with cinnamon (powder) or grated dark chocolate. It is necessary to consume or serve the drink with a high spoon.

This recipe is addressed to sweet lovers. To prepare it, you will need everything the same as for a classic latte, plus 20 ml of syrup, which should be poured into an irish glass first, before milk. Use the syrup according to the preferences of the person you are cooking for. If cooking for yourself, use syrup with your favorite flavor. In fact, anything will do – chocolate, fruit, vanilla, and so on, except for citrus, which sour milk. Gourmets are sure that the most successful latte coffee comes with black currant syrup.

Latte coffee special (latte original)

Ingredients for one portion: – finely ground natural coffee – 1 tsp. with a slide; – granulated sugar – 1 incomplete tsp. ; – salt – on the tip of a knife; – milk 3,2% fat – 1 glass; – Baileys liqueur – 1 tablespoon; – cocoa powder – 1/3 tsp; – water – 2 / 3 cups Heat a glass in hot water and pour the liquor into it. Heat the milk, but do not boil and then whisk it at high speed in a blender for 3-5 minutes, then pour it into a heated glass of liquor. Put salt, ground coffee, granulated sugar in an empty, clean and warmed-up dish in which you will brew coffee (turkey, ladle, saucepan) and heat it for 10-15 seconds over a very low heat with constant stirring with a wooden spoon. Then pour cold water into the vessel and continue heating (remember to stir) until the coffee crema rises. Remove from heat quickly without boiling.

At this point, the whipped milk will be divided into two layers: at the bottom – the milk itself, at the top – milk foam. Gently in the center, start pouring a thin stream of coffee into the milk. If everything is done correctly, then the coffee will turn out to be an average layer of three, i.e. bottom – milk, middle – coffee and third – foam. Cut out a template in the form of a heart, a circle or any other shape from cardboard in advance, attach it to the foam and sprinkle with cocoa powder. Remove the template, touch up the drawing with a wooden stick (for example, a toothpick) if it needs it. Now your latte coffee is special and original, and not only beautiful and aromatic.
