INDICATIONS AND DOSAGE

Pains of various origins: headaches, toothaches, muscles, joints and bones, dysmenorrhea, pains after surgical and dental procedures, fever in the course of a cold or flu. Rectally. Adults and children after the age of 12 500 mg 4-6 × / d; do not give more than 8 suppositories / d; max. 4 g / d in the short-term treatment, 2,6 g / d in the long-term treatment. Children 7-12. years of age 250 mg up to 4 times / day, not more frequently than every 4 hours.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation, severe liver or kidney failure, alcoholism.

WARNINGS

Do not use for more than 3 days in children and in adults for no longer than 10 days without consulting a doctor. Do not drink alcohol while using the preparation. Due to the risk of overdose, other paracetamol preparations should not be used concomitantly. Exercise caution in people with renal and / or hepatic insufficiency, as well as in people allergic to acetylsalicylic acid and its derivatives (increased risk of an allergic reaction). The risk of liver damage is particularly high in fasting people and in those who regularly consume alcohol. Use of the preparation in pregnant and breastfeeding women only after consulting a doctor and only if absolutely necessary.

INTERACTIONS

Paracetamol enhances the effect of anticoagulants from the group of coumarin and indandion derivatives. When used with MAO inhibitors, it can cause agitation and high fever. Caffeine slows down the hepatic metabolism and increases the analgesic effect of paracetamol. Salicylamide increases the elimination time of paracetamol. Rifampicin, anti-epileptics, hypnotics, and alcohol can cause liver damage. The use of paracetamol and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in patients with renal insufficiency may aggravate renal dysfunction.

SIDE EFFECTS

The following may occur: allergic reactions (pruritus, urticaria, rash, erythema), nausea, vomiting, impaired liver and / or kidney function. Very rare: methaemoglobinaemia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia.
