Some bartenders call this cocktail a treat for madmen, since alcohol in combination with energy drinks gives an unpredictable result, others claim that thanks to just one portion of the drink, you can have fun all night without feeling tired. It is quite simple to prepare the Green Fairy cocktail, the main thing is to get the ingredients – not every home bar is equipped with the required composition of alcoholic beverages.
Time, place of appearance and the author of the recipe are unknown. It is assumed that the cocktail got its name because of the characteristic green, closer to the emerald color, which gives absinthe in combination with Blue Curacao and melon liqueur.
Until the beginning of the XNUMXth century, absinthe was called the “green fairy” for its ability to cause hallucinations. For some time, the drink was even banned in almost all European countries. Then the producers learned how to purify absinthe from a narcotic substance – thujone (contained in wormwood), and it went on sale again. Modern absinthe in terms of hallucinations is safe.
According to legend, the Green Fairy cocktail can stimulate the imagination and unleash the creative potential of a person, and if you make a wish before the first sip, it will come true in exactly 30 days. However, the energy drink enhances the effect of a mixture of hard alcohol and liquors several times, so it is very risky to drink more than one serving in the evening.
