Why coarse calico is good and why we often make mistakes when choosing bed linen – read the material!
Calico is a cotton fabric, a plain weave of threads (criss-cross), which looks the same on both sides. The fabric is environmentally friendly, hypoallergenic, an excellent material for bedding. This is a correct description of coarse calico, but some people, due to their illiteracy and gullibility, acquire bed linen marked “coarse calico” not cotton at all, but synthetic, or with the addition of synthetics. Thus, the manufacturer of the fabric makes it cheaper, the manufacturer of bed linen sews from what was given, and the packers are not at all responsible for what is inside. As a rule, a cheap fabric bedding set is packed very nicely, and the description contains what customers want to see. Often people say that they want to buy cotton, implying the name of the fabric. Remember, cotton is what fabric is made of! Coarse calico, poplin, satin, flannel, waffle cloth, terry cloth, etc. are made of cotton.
For example, you have a ring, earrings, chain – and these are all names of products, but they are made of gold! Likewise, the fabrics are made of cotton! It happens that people, having bought a low-quality product with the inscription “coarse calico”, are afraid to re-purchase underwear from this fabric in general. It is not right! Even the coarse calico, which is made from cotton, is different! After all, the same pie with the same ingredients is obtained differently from different housewives. The quality depends on many factors: manufacturer, density and smoothness of the fabric. It happens that the same manufacturer has several articles of fabric: denser means more expensive, less often – cheaper, and the rarest, but cotton is the cheapest.
