Since ancient times, activated charcoal has been considered an effective remedy for poisoning and cleansing the body. Previously, coal was obtained by burning different types of fruit trees, as well as birch. Then it was exposed to steam at very high temperatures. Today, coal is processed by a chemical method – a mixture of certain salts. The essence of this does not change. Activated carbon acquires a porous structure and powerful absorbent properties. Thanks to this, it actively absorbs and removes toxic substances, processed products, pathogens, excess fluid, etc. from the body.

Taking activated charcoal, we start the process of cleansing the intestines of accumulated food “garbage”. As a result, metabolic processes are established, for the implementation of which the body needs more energy. He gets it, including by burning fat cells that are stored in reserve. Thus, the main benefit of the carbon diet is that the body is freed from harmful substances that interfere with its normal functioning. In the shortest possible time, the metabolism is adjusted and an optimal balance is achieved between the food consumed and the energy consumed. As a result, the desired weight loss occurs.

To achieve the maximum effect of a charcoal diet, it is important to follow the basic principles of a healthy diet. It is necessary to drink at least two liters of boiled water a day. Otherwise, give preference to unsweetened tea, coffee or kefir. The diet should be dominated by animal and vegetable protein, well saturating the body, but not deposited in the form of fat cells. But fried, fatty, salty dishes, smoked meats, as well as pastries and all kinds of sweets, should be categorically excluded from the menu.

The carbon diet for weight loss, more precisely, the intake of activated carbon tablets, occurs according to a certain scheme. On the first day, they drink three tablets, and each subsequent day they add another one. The maximum dose is calculated from the ratio: 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight. That is, if your weight is 80 kg, you stop increasing the amount of activated carbon as soon as it reaches 8 tablets per day. After that, you take a fixed amount of coal for another 5 days. There is also a simpler scheme – 10 tablets of activated carbon per day for ten days.  Of course, it is advisable to divide such a large dose into several doses. If you follow one of these methods, as well as the principles of a healthy diet, you can lose up to two kilograms of body weight in 5-6 days.

Is the charcoal diet harmful? Many doctors answer this question in the affirmative and warn those who are addicted to this system beyond measure. After all, activated carbon, together with harmful compounds, “pulls” useful substances that the body urgently needs. An excess of activated charcoal is fraught with intestinal obstruction, multi-day constipation and irritable bowel syndrome. Among other things, hypovitaminosis often develops, in which the body finds it difficult to absorb nutrients. That is why it is recommended to use a charcoal diet no longer than ten days in a row with an interval of six months. 

There is another important nuance. Since the extra pounds go away with the slags, the rejection of activated carbon and their return is inevitably accompanied by weight gain. Often, in significantly larger quantities. Of course, the charcoal diet has contraindications. It is banned for people with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, because it can provoke relapses. Such a diet is not recommended for those who take contraceptives, as well as other medications, since their effect in this case will be useless.

A charcoal diet, like any other, will not help you find the figures of your dreams without following the general principles of a healthy diet. This is rather a preventive measure that helps to “reset” the body and bring it into tone.
