Cluster headache

I am 32 years old, so far I have not suffered from anything. Yesterday I had a severe attack of headache around the eye and temple, it was accompanied by lacrimation and a runny nose from one nostril lasted about an hour.

What could it be caused by, and can it happen again? ~ darek466

The symptoms you describe may indicate a cluster headache attack, otherwise known as Horton’s pain. Bouts of very severe pain localized unilaterally in the orbital-temporal or orbital-frontal area are characteristic. It is accompanied by nasal discharge, nasal congestion on the pain side, one-sided tearing, miosis, drooping eyelid. Seizures repeat with varying frequency. You should definitely contact your doctor, who will recommend the appropriate medications to be taken at the time of the seizure. Strong light, stress and alcohol should be avoided during a seizure.
