Clove tincture with cinnamon and lemon zest

Homemade clove tincture with lemon zest and cinnamon will appeal to lovers of strong aromatic drinks with a mild but persistent taste. In addition, in moderation, clove tincture improves immunity and raises tone, and can be used to prevent colds.

The preferred alcohol base is high-quality vodka or ethyl alcohol diluted to 40-45%. It is also good to ennoble moonshine with cloves, along with lemon zest, this spice perfectly absorbs unpleasant odors.

Instead of lemons, you can take ready-made lemon zest (about 50 grams). Sugar is needed to soften the taste, I advise you to add no more than 4 tablespoons, otherwise the drink will turn out cloying.

Ingredients:

  • vodka (alcohol 40-45%, moonshine) – 1 liter;
  • carnation – 8 buds;
  • lemons – 4 pieces;
  • cinnamon – 1 tablespoon;
  • sugar – to taste (optional)

clove tincture recipe

1. Wash the lemons in hot water, then wipe dry to remove wax or chemicals that coat the fruit for long-term storage.

2. Gently remove the top yellow peel (zest) without touching the bitter white flesh. Peeled lemons are no longer needed.

3. Put the cloves, cinnamon and lemon zest in a jar, pour over the alcohol base, mix.

4. Close the jar tightly with a lid, leave for 25-30 days in a dark place at room temperature. Shake every 5-7 days.

5. Strain the drink through cheesecloth. Add sugar to taste (optional), stir.

6. Before use, keep the finished clove tincture in a dark, cool place for 2-3 days.
