Cloudberry liqueur and liqueur: 3 recipes at home

Cloudberry berries are considered by Finns to be an exquisite delicacy delicacy. Many dishes are prepared from them, including non-alcoholic and low-alcohol drinks, and the hallmark of Finland is cloudberry liqueur.

Classic cloudberry liqueur

Ingredients

  1. Cloudberries – 600 g

  2. Vodka – 1 l

  3. Granulated sugar – 500 g

  4. Water – 500 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Rinse cloudberries well in water, sort and remove spoiled berries, then chop with a blender or meat grinder.

  2. Transfer the prepared berries to a glass container and pour vodka over. Insist in a dark place at room temperature for 10 days.

  3. Cooking classic sugar syrup.

  4. After cooling, pour it into cloudberry vodka and let it brew for another 2 weeks.

  5. Do not forget to shake the contents of the container every day.

  6. After 14 days, the liquor must be filtered through a fine strainer and filtered through a homemade or purchased filter. Pour into glass bottles.

  7. Store ready-made cloudberry liqueur for no more than 5 years in a cool place.

Cloudberry liqueur with honey on cognac

In this recipe, honey will make the smell of liquor very fragrant, and the taste will be softer compared to the classic recipe.

Cognac will complement the cloudberry liqueur with woody notes.

Ingredients

  1. Cloudberries – 300 g

  2. Cognac – 500 ml

  3. Honey – 400 g

  4. Water – 200 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Rinse cloudberries well in water, sort and remove spoiled berries, then chop with a blender or meat grinder.

  2. Transfer prepared berries to a glass container and pour cognac. Insist in a dark place at room temperature for 10 days.

  3. After 10 days, add honey and water to the cloudberry tincture, mix well and let it brew for another 2 weeks.

  4. Do not forget to shake the contents of the container every day.

  5. After 14 days, the liquor must be filtered through a fine strainer and filtered through a homemade or purchased filter. Pour into glass bottles.

  6. Store ready-made cloudberry liqueur for no more than 5 years in a cool place.

Cloudberry infusion

Ingredients

  1. Vodka – 1 l

  2. Fresh cloudberry juice – 200 ml

  3. Water – 250 ml of water

  4. Sugars – 100 g

Method of preparation

  1. Prepare fresh juice from ripe cloudberries.

  2. Boil water, add sugar, stir until dissolved and cool.

  3. Mix cloudberry juice with sugar syrup, vodka and infuse in a closed vessel for 3 days at room temperature.

  4. Drain, filter through several layers of gauze or cotton wool.

  5. Pour into a bottle for storage, cork, keep in a dark place.
