Clotrimazolum Medana is a drug used in fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, versicolor dandruff and onychomycosis. The drug penetrates into the deeper layers of the epidermis. The preparation is intended for topical use and is available in pharmacies without a prescription.

Clotrimazolum Medana is a drug recommended:

  1. in fungal skin infection caused by dermatophytes, yeasts,
  2. in tinea versicolor,
  3. in fungal nail shafts.

Dosage of the preparation

Clotrimazolum Medana should be applied topically. After the acute symptoms disappear, the treatment should be continued for at least 4 weeks until the symptoms completely disappear. In the case of athlete’s foot, treatment should be continued for 2 weeks after all symptoms have disappeared.

  1. A few drops of the liquid 2-3 times a day should be rubbed into the diseased area.

Clotrimazolum Medana and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Clotrimazolum Medana are:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
  2. should not be used under an occlusive dressing, around the eyes or by mouth.

Clotrimazolum Medana – warnings

  1. Contact of Clotrimazolum Medan with the eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided.
  2. Avoid scratching the skin, wearing clothing and footwear that is impervious to air and heat.
  3. After washing and bathing, the infected areas should be thoroughly dried, and the clothes that come into contact with infected skin and the towel should be washed daily at 90 ° C.
  4. The liquid should not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy.
  5. In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy and during breastfeeding, it should be used with caution and only after consulting a doctor.
  6. The drug has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Clotrimazolum Medana with other drugs

  1. The clotrimazole in Clotrimazole Medana may reduce the effect of other topical antifungal drugs (e.g. nystatin, natamycin, amphotericin.
  2. Topical corticosteroids reduce the effect of clotrimazole.
