Clotrimazolum Homeofarm – indications, dosage, contraindications, side effects

Clotrimazolum Homeofarm is a preparation used in skin infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, mold fungi, in dandruff, candidiasis of the skin and mucous membranes of the external genitalia. The preparation is in the form of a cream for topical application and is available without a prescription.

Clotrimazolum Homeofarm – indications and dosage

Clotrimazolum Homeofarm ointment is recommended for:

  1. in skin infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, mold fungi,
  2. in tinea versicolor,
  3. in candidiasis of the skin and mucous membranes of the external genitalia.

Dosage

Clotrimazolum Homeofarm is a cream for external use. A thin layer of the ointment should be applied to the affected skin (2-3 times / day). After the symptoms have subsided, use the preparation for at least 1 month.

Clotrimazolum Homeofarm and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Clotrimazole Homeofarm are:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
  2. should not be used vaginally,
  3. should not be used on the breast if you are breastfeeding.

Clotrimazolum Homeofarm – warnings

  1. Contact of Clotrimazolum Homeofarm with the eyes and mouth should be avoided.
  2. Due to the cetostearyl alcohol content, the drug may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).
  3. Latex contraceptives should not be used during treatment with Clotrimazole Homeofarm on the mucous membranes of the external genitalia and for at least 5 days after stopping treatment.
  4. Use of the preparation in pregnant and breastfeeding women only after consulting a doctor and only if absolutely necessary.
  5. The drug has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
  6. In women in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug is used only when absolutely necessary.
  7. The drug should not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Clotrimazolum Homeofarm and other substances

Clotrimazolum Homeofarm may reduce the effectiveness of amphotericin and other polyene antibiotics, e.g. nystatin, natamycin.

Clotrimazolum Homeofarm – side effects

Skin reactions may occur during the use of Clotrimazole Homeofarm (redness, irritation) as well as systemic allergic reactions, pain and itching and rash.
