On Tuesday, Chancellor Angela Merkel and the leaders of Germany’s 16 federal states agreed that in workplaces, public transport and shops, there will be an order to wear disposable surgical masks or even more effective masks with an FFP2 / N95 filter. On Tuesday, a decision was also made to extend the lockdown until mid-February. Restaurants, recreation centers, cultural facilities and trade facilities (except grocery stores, drugstores and pharmacies) will remain closed.
These decisions are related to the emergence of the British variant of the coronavirus.
