Syn.: Tinea trichophytica glabrous skin.
Def .: Smooth skin infection caused by two groups of fungi: human and animal origin.
Epid .: Infections in Central Europe and South-West Europe.
Etiol.: Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton violaceum, Trichophyton tonsurans, Trichophyton megninii, Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes var. granulosum.
Pat .: The milder form is caused by anthropophilic fungi, the disseminated form, which is more severe, is caused by zoophilic fungi.
Loc .: The skin of the torso and upper and lower limbs, as well as the skin of the face.
Clinical: The following clinical forms are distinguished:
– mild form (tinea circinata squamosa),
– disseminated form (tinea circinata herpetica, herpes iris),
– wax mycoses (favus herpeticus),
– a character with a deeper dermal-subcutaneous location (kerion Celsi).
DL: Direct microscopic specimen brightened with KOH / DMSO reagent enables quick detection of fungal threads in the epidermal scales suspected of being infected with fungi, while the culture of infected fragments of the epidermis on Sabouraud’s medium enables the species identification.
DR: Gibert’s pink dandruff, nematode eczema, psoriasis.
